Ravaging Rick Rude (a hoy hoy), Friday, 16 September 2011 14:32 (fourteen years ago)

chris loves rafa like i hate jol, it's a positive trait imo

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Friday, 16 September 2011 14:33 (fourteen years ago)

Absolutely.

Chris, Friday, 16 September 2011 14:33 (fourteen years ago)

malaga?

Too many resources.

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Friday, 16 September 2011 14:34 (fourteen years ago)

lol

teams in driving distance of casa del rafa = half the epl so long as he doesnt mind managing one of whichever 72 lancashire mill town teams are in the league any given year

irrational hate is so much less insane than irrational love though

is there any current or former spurs employee you wouldnt ever hear a bad word said no matter what? (assuming there's even flimsy evidence to the contrary.) can't think of anyone like that for rangers.

r|t|c, Friday, 16 September 2011 14:36 (fourteen years ago)

Hardly irrational love though? CL football every season, 1 CL, another final, an FA Cup and the club's best PL points total!

Chris, Friday, 16 September 2011 14:39 (fourteen years ago)

chris otm

eh, probably not, but then i'm from the 'ppl are cunts' school in general, tbh. There are ppl you like, ppl you don't, don't know how much of it is rational or even to be taken seriously.

Packie Bonner's great tho, innee?

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Friday, 16 September 2011 14:41 (fourteen years ago)

interior life of rafa could be almost too much to take on tbh

talking heads, quiet smith (darraghmac), Friday, 16 September 2011 14:44 (fourteen years ago)

what about nick barmby

even emil cioran would be cheered by his impish smile and honesty of effort

And Benitez believes the constant changes since his departure are down to Moratti wielding too much influence on team matters.

"He [Moratti] makes too many mistakes. After me he has had three coaches [Leonardo, Gasperini and Ranieri], that means the president is making too many errors," Benitez said, according to Sky Sport Italia.

"Inter did not treat me well, they did not recognise my value despite me winning the Italian Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

"This is something that still pains me."

they went for ranieri? how does that guy still get employed?

according to the daily mail....
Carlo Ancelotti and former Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez are the favourites to take over if Redknapp were to leave and replace Fabio Capello as England manager after the European Championships.

mizzell, Friday, 7 October 2011 15:36 (fourteen years ago)

ancelotti would be the strong favourite, though.

Long way off yet, and dunno if the fa would even go for arry.

E'd be right good for ingerland tho.

Some good blog posts this month, liked the one on wingbacks.

Still think he might take over at Atléti? The odds must have narrowed.

boxall, Saturday, 29 October 2011 03:25 (fourteen years ago)

i thought aragones was favourite

entertainment promised either way

The availability of Rafael Benítez, who won a European Cup with Liverpool in 2005 while he was overseeing a period of transition after Gérard Houllier's tenure, has not helped Villas-Boas. There are suggestions that the Spaniard could replace Villas-Boas initially until the end of the season, charged with securing Champions League qualification, while Chelsea consider their longer-term options.

i would lol

toandos, Thursday, 23 February 2012 07:39 (fourteen years ago)

This looks like it's for real. At a guess Rafa gets a deal to the end of next season before Mourinho returns, which happens this summer if Real win the European Cup.

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 23 February 2012 08:23 (fourteen years ago)

fuck, he'll end up at us then ffs

beware of greek bearer bonds (darraghmac), Thursday, 23 February 2012 08:32 (fourteen years ago)

Obviously I love Rafa beyond all reason. Be sad for AVB tho and not sure of the wisdom of taking over another Mourinho team. Then again the job he would really like is Real Madrid so that would be even more of a problem.

pandemic, Thursday, 23 February 2012 09:40 (fourteen years ago)

best for rafa to take over a shambles well after mourinho than a just-departed success. The comparisons would be ..... kinder

if avb were to fail and be replaced in a year or so's time, and the new manager had a patchy start and was maybe under a touch of pressure, and arry gave the press a few lines about 'ow 'e thinks 'e should 'ave been asked back cos of wot a good job 'e'd done before..

ILF would not, i'd imagine, shrink from calling it cuntish behaviour.

its funny no-one has seems to mentioned the crazy damage he did to inter, six months there and they went from triple winners to upper-mid table rubbish.

I honestly cannot sleep, constantly tossing and turning. Every time I close my eyes, I see his (Benitez) cheery smile and polite wave.

Chelsea will walk this league now they actually have a world class manager. Will be wrapped up by april

apart from family tragedies It was just the worst possible news I could have received today

I wept over the Rafa portrait I have next to my bed when I heard the news.
