just thinking about all of this. it sounds corny to say, but canada qualifying was the best thing that could happen to this country. you can tell the vibe is changing. the team has achieved its main goal. even if we get eliminated in the group stage, this is already a big win for soccer in canada. anything else is just gravy

In retrospect, Japan/S.Korea had both hosted World Cup too recently and, frankly, it was never going to go to Australia which left the USA and Qatar. The USA are getting the next tournament.
