The APS-format EOS IX7 (£6 on eBay - and it's really ace) hiding behind a Sigma 12-24 I'd hired for the weekend...

(after all of that, I don't actually have a photo of our main camera...but y'all can do a GIS for "Canon EOS 40D"...)

(also don't have any photos of our Canon FTb, the 1970s manual SLR that was our workhorse for 10 years...)

beautiful looking bronica! that EOS IX7 looks really weird!
― dayo, Friday, 15 October 2010 04:50 (thirteen years ago) link
Yeah, it's the cheapest piece of plastic nonsense, but it is a Canon EOS SLR (with a smaller crop factor than most of their digitals), it takes all the EF lenses and does the job. I don't think I've obtained better results from the EOS 10 - not at standard print size anyway. This plus the 50/1.8 was all I could fit in my overnight bag when taking the kids up to Merseyside every few weeks in 2008-09.

found this in my gran's cupboard, used to belong to my great uncle, a 1986 olympus trip af md. put a roll of cheap film in it just out of curiosity, see how/if anything comes out. haven't used a film camera for about 8 years:

very cool! one thing to check for is the light seals - they need to be replaced. but if you want to get the lomo effect you might as well leave them be.

the light seals seem ok... not dryed up or coming away. well, find out when i get the film back anyway. think it might just be a case of sticking some black masking tape round it!

It's a bit sad, but every time I'm in Jessops on New Oxford Street (usually picking up prints/slides), I go straight to the GF1 and have a little play with it. Recently they've had it on display with the 20/1.7 fitted. If I win the lottery, forget L-series lenses, Hasselblads and Leicas, top of the shopping list is the GF1. (Obviously, I'm getting the Leicas and the 85/1.2L as well).
