Rhythm-Al-Shipism (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 11 November 2011 23:21 (fourteen years ago)

And that's pretty remarkable light that I would imagine is tough to get right!

woooowwww I love them both so so much

salsa shark, Saturday, 12 November 2011 13:15 (fourteen years ago)

Thanks guys, i purposely went out the morning after bonfire night knowing it's always misty. The light was only good for about an hour before it became too bright and cleared the mist.
Well worth it though.

not_goodwin, Saturday, 12 November 2011 13:36 (fourteen years ago)

One of the great things about that stag shot is how it's layered. There's no continuous foreground-to-background view. Instead, there are five or six discrete levels of depth. It's spectacular - well done!

Eyeball Kicks, Sunday, 13 November 2011 00:13 (fourteen years ago)

milo: I honestly can't decide if I like that shot better in color or b&w. I think it's pretty excellent either way. I'd be proud of it.

And goodwin's moose is freakin' stunning.

(At least I'm pretty sure that's a moose... perhaps a young and small male?)

DSMOS has arrived (kenan), Sunday, 13 November 2011 01:54 (fourteen years ago)

RIP little pumpkin

In my head, I'm singing "Goodbye pumpkin" to the tune of "Goodbye Horses".

DSMOS has arrived (kenan), Sunday, 13 November 2011 04:58 (fourteen years ago)

definitely not a moose

some great photos posted recently!

RR, Sunday, 13 November 2011 20:31 (fourteen years ago)

ha ha, what's that? was a television involved?

i just shot a roll of film of a bunch of people i only get to hang out with once, this sunny fall day, then found the roll didn't spool. just want to punch myself in the face. i always suspect it's happening when it happens, too, it's devastating. dammit.

Abattoir Educator / Slaughterman (schlump), Monday, 14 November 2011 05:56 (fourteen years ago)

one way I check that is by winding on a stroke, then rotating the rewind crank until I feel resistance, then shooting and winding on another frame. if I see the rewind crank spin, then I know I'm good

Exceptionally high standard on this thread of late. I barely have anything to offer...

Took a bunch of photos at fireworks/bonfire parties the weekend before last; got some fairly successful firework shots but I quite like the aftermath feel of this one:

And this was heading back from the Rec ground after the kids' Hallowe'en party a week earlier...

Millsner, Monday, 14 November 2011 14:24 (fourteen years ago)

Bummer about the roll, schlump! I think I related a similar experience upthread (or in another thread maybe?). I figure everyone's probably got at least one not-properly-loaded-roll story, and also probably an opened-the-camera-without-rewinding story. The latter one happened to me once, and I just kind of stared at the film dumbly for a second before slapping the camera back shut in a panic. I've caught myself starting to open a camera once or twice before realizing what I was doing.
The joys of film!

thanks, dayo!

I'm continually impressed with the new shots posted here. who knew ilxors were so talented?

Millsner, Monday, 14 November 2011 15:12 (fourteen years ago)

I hate how flickr shows a broken link if you replace an image. The photo looks good!

lou reed scott walker monks niagra (chinavision!), Monday, 14 November 2011 15:20 (fourteen years ago)

Aperture must have been doing some syncing shenanigans while I posted.

Also, great jukebox!

LOVE that last one.

Just searched for this one within my Flickr stream for another purpose; weird framing (it was taken through a wire mesh fence) but I do like it anyway. All that was left when our local thrift store burned to the ground in 2002 (Canon Ftb, 50/1.4 lens, Kodak Gold 200):

It's annoying when that happens (especially when there's no reason for it) and I bet no one can be bothered to click through, so I'll have another go.

Ok, I give up. Can anyone see them?

Michael Jones, Tuesday, 15 November 2011 09:28 (fourteen years ago)

If I click through, yeah. I like how the piano's remnants are propped up with that charred bit of wood.

Millsner, Tuesday, 15 November 2011 09:50 (fourteen years ago)

I wonder what's going on? I'll try a more recent image (Sept this year)...

Shows up just fine. Cool perspective.

Millsner, Tuesday, 15 November 2011 10:51 (fourteen years ago)

Wonder if there's a bit of a time limit operating on Flickr images? Stuff that's too far back in yr photostream doesn't show up via embedded HTML? That doesn't really make sense though...

You mean City Tower?
I am yes.

it took me a while to orientate myself to that view - it's a flattering shot of the city
