As much as I really want to give this to Danielson, I gotta say that I think that Daniel Garcia edged him out just barely, just because of where each of these guys are at in their respective careers. This year felt like a career renaissance for Danielson, where we finally got to see the return of the American Dragon. In the few months that he's been part of AEW, he's checked off multiple dream matches. However, I feel that Garcia has really broken through this year. Between AEW, GCW, NJPW Strong, and the tons of matches he's been a part of on the indie circuit, he's really shown that he is just getting started. I'm really excited to see where he's at this time next year. Dude has a ton of potential and has really impressed a lot of people this year, including the aforementioned Bryan Danielson.

The ovation that MJF got with his hometown crowd was enough to melt anyone's heart a little. Even he couldn't help but smile. Honorable mention to Kris Statlander, though, for her great return this year, joining Best Friends, and being the first woman recruited into CHAOS.
I wish Wheeler Yuta was on one of these. I thought he's had a great 2021, including some excellent matches as the Independent Wrestling TV champion (and he was acknowledged as a World Champion by PWI this year).
