I thought the mohawked gremlin in Gremlins 2 was the same as Stripe! The gremlins seem to have some sort of inter-generational biological memory: in the sequel, one of them remembers the microwave execution from the first movie, and the mohawk gremlin seems to hate Gizmo just as much as Stripe did, so I thought he was just Stripe reincarnated.

I voted Caroling, all wrapped up in Christmas cheer, when I actually meant pub. I like the way Phoebe Cates keeps serving them, despite the fact they have all clearly had too much.

I guess microwaved gremlin didn't have a name?

gremlins 2 has a moment in it which is better than every structuralist film put together. at one point the film bubbles and melts and burns through, everything goes black for 15 seconds. the theater might have even raised the house lights for added effect. i remember people in the audience actually booing and shouting for refunds then the black cuts to a bunch of gremlins inside a projector booth destroying everything.

i guess those kind of tricks don't work on dvd.
