I hear so much about them but I don't really know.

gygax and zemko and Chris V ALL like them, though. That's a broad church if ever I saw one.

Which record is the one to get, THE BREAKDANCE SOUNDTRACK?

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 16 August 2004 03:26 (nineteen years ago) link

I want to say that The Rapture lifted their cowbell pattern for "House Of Jealous Lovers" from the similar-purpose-serving woodblock percussion in LL+TCJ's "Lost In Emotion" but the similarity ends towards the end of the percussive pattern.

lisa lisa and cult jam always remind me of word association games because i cannot think of them without immediately thinking of "eddie and jo-bo in the morning on b96." also for some reason then shannon's "let the music play" comes into my head.

I always thought "Head to Toe" was way better than "Take You Home".

The way the melody lifts up when she sings "i think i love you from head to tooooooooooooooe [rest] oooo-ooooooooooooo" is kind of psychedelic.

"take you home" is great song, but the "lately, you've been expressing to me/just how much you want to make love" lyric always trips me up

i had a late-night amazon ordering binge last week that involved lisa lisa, agalloch and shara nelson. none of them has shown up yet, maybe it was a dream.

Lisa Velez, better known as Lisa Lisa came to prominence in the1980’s with her freestyle band Cult Jam. Classic R&B infused electro hits like ‘I Wonder If I Take You Home’ and ‘Can You Feel the Beat’ propelled their debut album, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam with Full Force to platinum status. Their second platinum album, Spanish Fly, soon followed, cementing Lisa Lisa in place as queen of the dance clubs and paving the way for future Latina powerhouses Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. In 2009, Lisa Lisa released her highly anticipated seventh album Life N Love.
