....and probable BOARD MISUSE

Guess who's beginning at USC's graduate school of cinema-television this august?

Me. I'm enrolled in the writing for cinema-television MFA.

So, give me your sage pieces of pith. No pretentious crap, no witty truisms. Sincere advice for a filmmaker. Or just gratify your gigantic fucking ego (match it with mine) and tell what snooty thing you're headed off to do.

Ummm...can i ask a question? I'm actually hoping to apply to that exact course, among other Screenwriting MFAs. What did you have to show them in terms of experience, portfolio, etc.?

Grade-point average (calculated from submitted transcripts)

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, and for international students, also Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores

Autobiographical character sketch (2 page max)

Most emotional moment (2 page max)

Creative challenges (Part A & B) 5 pages ea., a 'stuck in elevator scene' and a scene in which one character wishes to go out and another wishes the first to stay inside.

Writing samples (30 pages?)

Portfolio list

Letters of recommendations

As well as a standard application materials. I think it helps that I was able to submit a _very_ long portfolio list, resume, and related cinema experience.
