Blinker The Star

Jordon Zadorozny was one of my favorites in the 90s, but I hadn't heard from him since (didn't even know there was a Blinker album in 2003, so I need to track that down). But ANYWAY...there's a new 5th album coming in May! Amazon samples

Did he ever do anything better than the first s/t album? Probably not, but I'm struck with a weird lovey sense of nostalgia about this guy.

I was always told by a friend of mine to check out Blinker The Star, and even though my friend had/has really good musical taste, I could never get past the name. (I feel the same way about similarly-named acts of today, like Foster The People and Young The Giant.) More fool me; I should really give Blinker a chance.

Well, tbh, given the two examples you've cited, your instincts have served you well.

I've always liked the 3rd "expected-to-be-the-breakthrough-but-it-wasn't" album August Everywhere, a favorite of cut-out bins everywhere. Generally more low key than the first 2 albums--think pop songs with cellos.

Recommended for fans of The Grays' Ro-Sham-Bo.
