I've never listened to or followed Pantera but this doesn't surprise me at all because of my time in high school. I lived in Ripley, WV, population 3000, and there was one functioning band in town, Death Core War Machine. They were essentially a Pantera cover band, although they knew a few hits by Black Label Society. The kids in this band were self proclaimed Nazis, and whenever there was a falling out in that group, they formed another little gang and called themselves Communists. I just assumed the entire time they didn't know the meaning of any of it, and cracked up when a kid wore a hammer and sickle with that red cancellation circle on it on his shirt. I guess something more sinister was at play. Oh well, I still got to see their melt down across two talent shows.

The members of the band are Anton Crowley (Anselmo) on Guitars, Bass and Drums, Killjoy on vocals and Opal Enthroned (Stephanie Opal Weinstein) on keyboards. I'm a homegrown New Orleans boy, and a Heavy Metal singer. 6-platinum records, 3-gold records (different band), a record label that puts out local Heavy Metal (and other extreme oddities), I love sushi, and I'm a stupidly rich high school drop out and published author in several "hands-on, legit, and tangible" magazines, I've been quoted in several major selling books since 1990 and have been in films and the damn TV for decades.
It's 2012, and yep, Heavy Metal still pays the bills, so it's extremely relevant.
So I suggest, you go enjoy your stale, modern country records (or whatever the hell you listen to), or watch "American Idol" with the rest of the herd.
And watch out for who you "call out".
Because yep, I'm as tough as stone, and chances are very, very likely I'd kick your ass from Bourbon to Clearview blvd.
