also underrated - melanie blatt's solo single 'twentyfourseven' which is basically nicked off the artful dodger album except blatt's vocals are even better, all golden and creamy. oh the golden age of two-step!

and 'never ever' remains one of the most heartbreaking songs i've ever heard - i remember lots of people dissed it because it was subservient and unfeminist but that was WHY it was so heartbreaking.

i really liked the spice girls (and without any irony even at my worst popism times). they had great singles (never heard the albums, though).
"say you'll be there", "who do you think you are", "spice up your life", ("wannabee" i liked less).
anyway, just mentionning those brings back sweet memories... haven't heard these in years. i'm gonna DL them right now !

All saints are recording their 3rd album now (If you don't count All Hits) And their new single is due to be released June/July, and the album a short while (month or so) after that.
I CANT WAIT!

shame, I like both singles from the album a lot. i still find it a bit odd that initial excitement re comeback alone can land 'rock steady' in the top ten but it doesn't extend to a follow-up hit which is just as good if not better.

Being the deprived American that I am, I only ever heard Never Ever a total of two times during its chart run in the United States. It was a good track but I guess we had enough of girl groups after the Spice Girls came and went. Shame. I'm still upset that we totally missed the boat on UK Garage and the awesomeness that was Mis-Teeq. We did get Cleopatra, though.

Saints & Sinners is worth picking up. It's not the masterpiece it should have been after Pure Shores and Black Coffee but it's enjoyable. Surrender is another William Orbit produced song that is really gorgeous and should have been the fourth single.

The news of the reunion has made me finally give the Appleton album a go. I'm surprised how good it is. Going to give Shaznay's album a listen now.
