Hey guys! Has anyone else been at Reading or Leeds this weekend?

As you may know, my mate D@r@ is on the St00ges road crew and I guess there were some concerns about the sound at Leeds? Anyone there catch it? Was the sound alright? (were there problems or are they just being musos about it. ::ducks::) If you see any reviews can you link them, too? (googled the usual places but can't find anything.)

No, seriously.

Amyway, we're about to head off to Reading as soon as the tourbus gets here. Feel free to talk about other Reading/Leeds performances, gossip and stuffs. I know it's not a "cool" festival like Glasto or anything, but I'm sure some others of us will be there...

I went on Friday, specifically to see J3n and S4nde singing with Ch4rlotte H4therley, but somehow got my boozage pacing completely and utterly wrong and had to remove myself forcibly from the festival site before they'd even come on. so I missed Ladytron too, and made something of a twat of myself into the bargain. Way to go, Charlie!

On the plus side, it turn out my homing instincts are pretty bloody phenomenal, since I managed to get all the way back to my house from Reading while unable to walk, talk, think or even dribble properly.

I was at Reading on Friday. Though this is nothing new, the sound especially on the main stage was very variable. Elbow sounded like they were on a radio in a room next door (possibly an advantage that, mind), while it took me about 30 seconds to work out what QOTSA's first song actually was. Pixies' sound was crystal clear, but not particularly loud, I thought.

Sound in the tents was fine, though.

So no one was in Leeds then? Or maybe they've not got home yet.

Are you going to Reading today, for the RAWK, Chuck?

We were supposed to go yesterday just to hang out and watch bands but ended up hanging around the hotel and eating posh food in fancy restaurants instead.

Naaah, I'm at work til 3 and didn't have a ticket anyway - the lady E, on the other hand, snagged a ticket offa Emsk so will be there soon I believe.

Man, that was the shortest thread evah. Anyone else go to Reading?

Barely got to see anything because we were trapped back in the village of the damned Marilyn Manson. Saw the Stooges from the stage, of course, which was AMAZING!!! Saw Echo and the Bunnymen in a little tiny tent backstage - felt like we were 15 again. Saw a song and a half of M.I.A. who was excellent, and then finally made it to the NME tent to see Emsk wander onstage dressed as a BEAR and get the crap beaten out of her by the British Pee Shower. And saw a song and a half of Marilyn Manson before being yelled at by a paramedic to get back with the crew.

Rock'n'roll fun times. Oh yes.

And a punchup with Johnny Borrel and Pete Doherty. Presumably an ex-libertines reunion.

(It took me ages to try and explain the soap opera that is the Libertines saga. "So this is a tv show, right?" "No, it's a band." "Wait, you made this up, this is one of your wank fantasies, right?" "No, I swear to god, it's a band!")
