For the first time ever, I've found myself stumped as to what I should download. So I am relying on ILM to help me. So albums or tracks that I would like please. Here is a handful of tracks to use as a guide so you know what I like.

I LIKE:
Electronica in the style of: Plaid, Autechre, Two Lone Swordsmen
Indie in the style of: Gorky's, Boo Radleys, Pavement, Radiohead
Classic stuff like: Beach Boys, Doo Wop, Tom Waits, Elvis
Metal like: Arcturus, Emperor, Electric Wizard, Kyuss, Rhapsody, Sigh
Reggae: Wackies Dub, Roots, Rocksteady, Dancehall

I DON'T LIKE:
New R*ck Revolution rubbish
R'n'B where they don't sing words just go "waauauauauauagh"

Thanks for your help! :-)

Take a look to see if there's any Rheostatics out there: "California Dreamline" might be a good start to hit you in that gorky's spot, but also try "I Fab Thee" "Onilley's Strange Dream" or maybe "Earth/Monstrous Hummingbird".

inserting tom waits into the classic category is a bit of a stretch. la casa azul is great, they even lift the dynasty theme, i think it is dynasty.

You might like the Cansecos s/t album. Interesting pop album that might fit with your indie interests.

You tried the Hi/Stax Records catalogues? Classic Memphis soul.

Also, whenever I find myself trying to extend a download spree, I try and sit back and really listen to what I do have. This time I gravitated to Rufus Thomas, Al Green, Talking Heads, and Vivaldi for some reason.

all songs by Dennis Brown, Delroy Wilson, and John Holt. I think they have a thousand songs between the three of them so surely you couldn't have downloaded all of them already. Right?

I use www.boomkat.com as a guide to downloading electronica. Obv. the recently released stuff will be hard to trck down, but go back a few weeks and you'll becool. They also have snippets of some of the tracks on the site - try before you buy!
