Yeah, most musicians don't fall into the trap of looking really smug on an album cover, it's nagl (e.g. self-satisfied and with a cheesy grin). Usually they pick a photo that's 'serious' or just smiling slightly - a music photographer could give plenty of actual insights into that!

When I was younger I thought that Sting and Annie Lennox always looked smug, middle class, middle aged. so I googled their album covers for this thread. but in every picture they both look so unsure, vulnerable... and young. damn.
