^thread creation inspired by listening to Untitled version “My Back Pages” in which he barely lets up, even when Roger McGuinn is nominally taking a solo break.

Suppose technically I should have presented a studio tune of him doing this.

Albert Lee did this for Emmylou Harris on Luxury Liner. And I believe other assorted tunes in her/his career but that's the one that springs to mind.

Ironically, the two occasions Keith Moon didn’t sound like he was soloing through the whole tune were session gigs: the Jeff Beck Group’s version of “Old Man River” (where he played tympani), and Labelle’s “Miss Otis Regrets.”

He did the same for Dave Edmunds on “Sweet Little Lisa,” as can be seen here

Believe Billy Bremner is in there too and maybe Terry Williams. Somebody also said Graham Parker who I didn’t notice the first time through.

Who is the guy playing the guitar on Elvis Costello's Allison? Because he never lets up.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 11 July 2019 14:10 (four years ago) link

John McFee, who joined the Doobie Brothers not long afterward lol.
