I understand if you want Uncanny Valley off the list. No hard feelings if it doesn't make the spreadsheet. To me its about as heavy as any Cleric, Deafheaven or Mt. Erie albums that have made it in the past. Certainly weaves through a lot of genre's but it's pretty extreme. But yeah, I guess noise/experimental/avant would be the primary genres.

Bell Witch will probably be on my ballot, but fairly low. the length really does make it a prohibitive thing.

I didn't like the Bell Witch album that much but I don't resent their popularity. But I seem to remember speculation about placings etc is frowned upon so I'll just say they weren't who I was thinking of and leave it at that.

the new album is their first good one. i like it a lot

does the extremely synthy/proggy arcane roots record count, there's at least four minutes of heavy riffage on the record
