I love it so much.

I hope my DVR recorded it last night.

I need to remember to set this up for autorecording. Thankfully, I've got ondemand as a backup.

But anyway, YES! I love this show so much.

Everytime I think I've narrowed down my favorite kid, one of the other ones does something that makes him/her my favorite. Gene...Tina...Louise...I guess that's what it feels like to be a parent.

ha i forgot to watch this last week. so apparently 100 percent of this show's fans forget to watch it, based on our sample so far.

tina is the best.

this show would work better and save a lot of animation costs by just filming the table reads.

I have never seen this show. Tell me why it's better than Family Guy.

It reminds me of Home Movies, for both obvious (Benjamin) and non-obvious reasons.

It is not like Family Guy at all.

more character/dialogue-based, has occasional flights of fancy but nothing like the constant jumps to random pop culture references like in family guy

ha i think i'm being preemptively defensive of loving this show. i think whiney was making fun of bob's burgers fans. anyways, the first episode of the new season (s2) is up on hulu and is probably a pretty good introduction to the show if anyone is interested in trying it.

My favorite kid changes every episode. Often, several times within an episode.

Yeah, I think the kids are all equally great.

But my favorite character is probably Teddy.

Season premiere was fantastic. One of the best episodes yet.

The sad thing is the way Tina was acting when she got behind the wheel is pretty much how I behaved when I learned how to drive. I even hit a car in a parking lot (although it was slowly moving and not parked).

I could watch a series that was just escalating Linda/Louise scream-fights, I swear.

Just started watching this on Netflix, the week after I just saw my first few eps of "Happy Endings," and I see a couple of parallels, both in an obvious affection for the characters as well as an innocent willingness to just keep the jokes coming. The former point is important, I think, because so many sitcoms are set up mostly as a series of put-downs and insults.

The sad thing is that Tina was actually really good and competent at news reporting and yet the universe still conspired against her to make her fail.

The whole Bob/Little Bob scene in the bathroom was the perfect encapsulation of this show's talent for escalating insanity, though. And Teddy's story about applesauce.

yeah it's not super apparent but the archer-bob's burgers crossover made the differences clear enough and mcgurk and ben before that were different enough characters that it never felt the same even when mcgurk was interacting w/ katz's character on home movies.

My brother, girlfriend, & I shotgunned much of the series on a family vacation at my parents house a coupla weeks back and I was reminded that one of the reasons I love the show is the acceptance of all the characters to the weird shit that happens, either blithely or with a shrug. Louise's seance and Bob's immediate joining in on the fun, completely accepting the premise and getting mad when her friends ask dumb questions. Bob getting drunk with and ferrying punters to some trans hookers he meets on a random night. That kinda thing. They will accept the premise of what's going on, but are not afraid to comment on how dumb it can get.

xp Drew Carey's brother on his sitcom was a transvestite, but the writers went out of their way to make sure people knew he was straight, and by the time he got married on the show they dropped the cross dressing altogether. That's about the closest I've ever seen, but Gene is something entirely different.

Wow. I don't get that at all. "Bob's Burgers" has a solid anchor that "Family Guy" lacks. It's less frenetic, more level headed, dryer. The kids act kooky, but Bob is a solid dude and his wife is sort of like a weirder Marge whose crazy side has gone to the kids. The anarchic "Archer" is more out to gleefully non-sequitur offend, but "Bob's Burgers" has a good heart. When it does aim to offend, it does it in this really surreal innocent sort of way. Which I suppose could be equally off-putting.

tracer you should give it another shot, this show really is the anti-FG. sentimental and warm where FG is cheap and cold. maybe king of the hill is its closest cousin, tho BB has a somewhat giddier pace.

tho a shocking number of ppl i've recommended this show to have cringed and gone "ugh it's not like family guy, is it?" i guess i can't blame them, i feel like half the animated shows on tv at this point have seth macfarlane's grinning specter hovering over them.

Has the new season just started? Awesome.

This show has really grown in quality over time - love it. Making it more and more outlandish and spending less focus on just the restaurant was the right way to go. It's filling my Home Movies void just fine.

I wasn't in love with the first episode, but I may just need to recalibrate my system after a summer away.

This most recent episode was amazing. Every single person in the cast brought their A-game and then some.

They somehow made that girl truly frightening!

Home ec episode was one of my favorites so far. Especially the compressed teacher-student struggle between Bob and Zeke. They do a really good job making this show seem ad libbed.

They record most of the v/o live with the whole cast in the booth so some of it might be, a little bit.

this TV show is everything right in the world.

I saw the Bob's Burgers movie this weekend. If you are allergic to the series' periodic musical numbers, AVOID. Otherwise I would compare it to one of the better episodes, stretched out to feature length.

I love the music in the show, so I'm looking forward to this.

So many great recurring support characters in this show, I know I'm gonna be disappointed by the ones that don't appear in the film

This was great. But yes it could've used more Regular Size Rudy.

We started the movie last night, and it was fine, not bad at all. But at some point (that felt much closer to the end than to the beginning) we had to pause it and were shocked to learn that there were still 45 minutes left. So ... we bailed. Felt a little guilty, because this show is so charming and good, but I guess from our perspective it works much better in compact 22 minute form than as a feature, especially with a plot that didn't need the extra 80 (!) minutes.

fwiw the one-liner about coloring books on tape was one of the funniest throwaways I've ever heard, so it wasn't all a loss.

New xmas episode is great, one of the best. Sometimes I wonder if these characters still have another significant holiday in them while basically being frozen in time, but then they do.

remarkable how consistent it is, even in its billionth season. the characters never became too uh cartoonish, which is what happens to a lot of long-running comedies

Finally caught up with last year's Christmas episode and I'm pretty sure it's the best thing they've ever done
