Have you got something exciting happening in the near future? What are you looking forward to at the moment?

Penny Lane, Wednesday, 27 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm looking forward to a pay rise at work.

April 15th: My next student loan cheque + amelie out on DVD

Graham, Wednesday, 27 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Some upcoming shows, hopefully a date or two :-), getting to work on the new novel, enjoying the longer days and warmer weather -- a variety of small things. And a certain George Lucas movie.

I should also say I'm enjoying the highly illegal dub of a popular effort I received today. So nice.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 27 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm looking forward to getting out of credit card debt. And also playing a gig in front of a (hopefully) large crowd next Friday (they'll be someone else's crowd, but a crowd's a crowd really).

electric sound of jim, Wednesday, 27 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm looking forward to having no school Friday, going on a school- related trip to NYC Saturday (wheee! we will see the crucible and ride on a bus for like 9 hours, which makes me really happy), and watching the fountainhead for comic value either this friday or some other weekend.

Maria, Wednesday, 27 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

tomorrow.

jess, Wednesday, 27 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Tomorrow my spring break starts - well, after school ends. That's exciting and good to look forward to. Plus my family is having a firepot that night (pot of boiling broth in the center and you cook raw stuff to perfecting in little nets, it's an Asian thing) and my boyfriend is invited. Plus I get to spend some "quality" time with my sister on Friday, then I get to see some friends on Saturday, Sunday I am either going out to dinner or seeing my boy again before he leaves for school, Monday I am touring some place I might apply to...But in any case, I have lots of things to look forward to, and I am very happy about this.

jen, Wednesday, 27 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Going to NYC on May 3rd is right up there. Can I look forward to finding a job, even though the prospect is very small at present?

And it's silly and small, but one of my favourite people is having a job-leaving do next week that I'm really looking forward to. If I'm lucky, N. might be there too! What more can you ask for?

Mark C, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

As I have now discovered I have put on A STONE in a very short amount of time, I am looking forward to JOINING THE GYM. Dere me things are horrific. If I can go to Glasters/ATP I will look forward to that! And tonight I am supposed to be going for BEERS with OLD CHUMS. Beer!!!!!

I am off work, it is sunny outside, and I am on ILE. I DISAPPOINT MYSELF oh well at least I haf thort of ALE. In fact, what I generally look forward to in my life is drink these days.

Sarah, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Odd rave tonight at some crazy ruined castle in bogIreland which I mentioned before. And ORBITAL on Saturday sadly not at a ruined castle. Oh and can I go on? Friday week is Old Skool Nite 3 at the Red Box, and the last one was surprisingly brilliant, it's once a month and a big crowd of friends will probably go. Then the day after that it's Mr C. and then DJ Falcon the week after that. Then I need to plan the next few weeks. Oh and there's lots of insignificant boring annoying non-going out stuff in between.

Ronan, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

August sees the release of LotR on DVD and then November sees the EXTENDED VERSION...

katie, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

have just realised - am looking forward to Camping and LotR. more grist to Alang's "katie is a mentalist" mill methinks :)

katie, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Nonononono I am excited about the extended mix too! I supose they do not call it an EXTENDED MIX on DVD but stil!! A HOBBIT MUSICAL NUMBER! YES! I will need to buy a DVD playa!!!!

Sarah, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Or hide in Katies spice cupboard with the GARAM MASALA GOBLINGS and then come out in the dead of night and watch it myself on RickyTs DVD playah! HA HA, HA HA HAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA oh dere.

Sarah, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

There is a film in which Hobbits sing. You really don't want to see it though.

RickyT, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

LotR. gah! Pleased to see it won "The Keanu Reeves Award for most homoerotic film" in one of the alternative Oscars.

Alan T, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

did it? ooh then i'll be looking fwd to those deleted scenes of frodo and pipping bumming... i'll get me coat :)

katie, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

a tolkien musical is urgent and key: "fifteen birds in five fir trees" => haha one of the lines is "till skin cracks and eyes glaze"... and they call it twee

mark s, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Is this the CARTOON version RickyT? Was there precense of SOFT SHOE SHUFFLE??? THAT is what I want to see. Pipping in a SEQUINNED WAISTCOAST oh yes, the breeches are all very nice but darling this is LAS VEGAS!!

In the Silmarillion I am now up to 'Of Bererialand and it's Realms'. The excitement is overwhelming me no REALLY! More GOTHMOG say I. He could do a great ROCK NUMBER.

Sarah, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Gothmog vs Gorthaur: tap dance FITE!

RickyT, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Gothmog vs Morgoth = anagram throwdown!!

ie which is bettah, r or g?

mark s, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The first day of a ten day university break begins today, but I have many projects to complete during this time and so I'm not looking forward to anything right now.

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

it is curious and possibly significant that tolkien — who is on the surface very extremely PRO goth, in the ruskin/morris sense AND the ann radcliffe sense — incorporates the word into names to imply radical evil...

mark s, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Did the Goths ever invade Finland?

RickyT, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

groke = icegal of forochel

mark s, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Fields of the Nephilim probably toured there once

chris, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Death, hopefully. I feel like it, at least

Ally, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

thread mutation to LotR makes a lot of people feel that way.

Alan Trewartha, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I was looking forward to my friend N's birthday party for her fiancee S, to be thrown in their Canal St loft, and at which I would be the DJ. HOWEVER their insecure and childish roomie A has some inexplicable phobia of a very good friend of theirs/ours who would be certain to attend. Since A controls the loft, and they are all at his mercy, they have all had to bend to his will. They've just called the whole thing off (since not inviting the problematic friend would be far stranger and not-right than simply not having the party, or having it elsewhere)... N's made a bazillion phone calls to invite people and now has had to make the same bazillion calls to disinvite them. N is beyond furious... Soo... I'm kind of looking forward to a sandwich...

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm looking forward to Friday.

Samantha, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

*sends Ally a hug*

I'm looking forward to meeting Brian. Google research has shown that he's the person I've known the longest online and it will be excellent to finally meet him.

Dan Perry, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

*seconds Ally hugs, big time, and chastises Alan for his wretched LOTR comments* Am I going to buy both DVD sets given that they have separate amounts of extra material on them? OH GOD YES I AM THAT PATHETIC. I care not.

The Stockholm Monsters albums coming through the letterbox

I'm planning on ordering those myself this weekend! Hurrah for American distribution of those suckers...

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

And yeah, the Rankin-Bass Hobbit and Return of the King both feature singalonga fun. Listening to the Mordor orcs since "When There's a Whip, There's a Way" = hilarity.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

hey where are my hugs?? do i not BLEED LIKE YOU etc etc

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Dude, why do you need a hug? You've got a sandwich.

Dan Perry, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

yeah, a sandwich of DEATH! HUG ME!

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Talking of bleeding...I cut two of my fingers at work today. I am now considering career as Andrew WK double.

jel --, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I think Andrew WK needs a hug. A big bloody hug that squeezes him within an inch of his life.

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

How violent, how bitter. No wonder nobody wants to hug you.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

even you Ned! EVEN YOU! *weeps inconsolably*

Okay, I'm going out for a sandwich. Anybody want to meet me on 52nd street and give me a hug?

Thought not. *weeps again, but consolably this time*

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Are you turning into me or something? Hurrah! Another minion!

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ned is like a virus, only with longer hair. And fey.

Dan Perry, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I AM you. All of you.

Linda Tripp, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

For that comment I'll hug you Tracer.

Samantha, Thursday, 28 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Me as virus vs. Tracer as Linda, hm...

Ned Raggett, Friday, 29 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

This was really the wrong week to ask this question...

I think Brian McDonald JINXED me, because as soon as I got back to the office after meeting him I found out that I'm not graduating, I have to take another class this summer that I had been told by my advisor I wouldn't have to take. Which may not sound like a big deal, but I really can't afford it and I was looking forward to getting my degree so I could quit the job I have now.

So I'm looking forward to finding my former advisor and kicking his ass.

Nicole, Friday, 29 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Should mention only 10 days till Im done classes.
All year long I thought Id be sad as shit but now I cant wait.
First thing I do when I get home is watch The Graduate.

Mr Noodles, Sunday, 31 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am looking forward to tracking down this advisor of Nicole's and finding evil and horrific things to do to him. The bastard.

Looking way ahead, I was obviously already primed for The Two Towers, but now having seen the initial trailer reel for it, now I'm *really* primed! Seen it yet, Katie?

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 31 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

archiving ILM tomorrow!!

mark s, Sunday, 31 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Spring. Or at least the rain stopping. Or leaving this town plagued by terrible weather. Whichever comes first.

isadora, Sunday, 31 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

What do you do when you feel like you have nothing whatsoever to look forward to? Is there something you're able to do or to think of that's able to bring you out of that hole?

This is a serious question.

anon, Sunday, 31 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am looking forward to visiting friends this weekend.

rosemary, Sunday, 31 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Sarah, Monday, 1 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

NED!!! i have not seen any 2 Towahs trailahs! but there's a TV ad thing over here which is basically saying "get thee to the cinema to see LotR again, there's a 2 towers trailer with it" and then it shows some bird (=Eowyn, probably) and a battle with ppl falling off a wall... i am GOING TO though!! *bounces*

katie, Monday, 1 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm looking forward to my next paycheck. Unfortunately, this is a MONTH AWAY.

Dan Perry, Monday, 1 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

and ORBITAL

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr there was a problem and my friend had to cut his guestlist in half therefore I COULDN'T GO. BAH.

Ronan, Monday, 1 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i am GOING TO though!! *bounces*

You will appreciate it. There is much goodness.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 1 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.

N., Monday, 1 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

N., Monday, 1 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)
