OK, I'm getting scared that no one's going to come to my Halloween party, and I'm going to go broke and also embarassed for throwing a busted-ass party, so I'm posting it here. tell all your friends because the venue holds like 600:

A party of gigantic proportions is looming in the neon underground of New York City. The armies of the night number 100,000; they outnumber the police 5 to 1; and on Saturday, October 30th, they're gathering at The Warriors Halloween Party @ Supreme Trading.

There's going to be a photographer there. You enter in the "gang registry" and have your gang photo taken. Later in the night, they'll all be projected against the main wall. And maybe I'll email you the photos, I guess.

Regardless, I've seen so many great events with great bills totally empty, so I understand Phil's worry. So I suppose, yeah, NY IS way more jaded then you realized! Regardless, I've seen so many great events with great bills totally empty, so I understand Phil's worry. So I suppose, yeah, NY IS way more jaded then you realized!

Dan is so OTM. Also, this is the sort of event that would attract lots of people who never pay for things, I can't be putting all of Williamsburg on the damn guestlist. Most of the DJs play quite often (except Bam. And me, I guess though next week I'm starting a Sunday evening happy-hour party with Cat at Verlaine in case anyone is interested, and maybe a Fagtronix party...), so I guess the novelty of hearing THE ONE AND ONLY DAN SELZER SPIN ITALO,NEW-WAVE,NO-WAVE,DISCO,THE HOMOSEXUALS, ETC isn't that novel anymore :(

I had a Tim Curry disco record. Then I gave it to my friend Oliver. Then he gave it back to me. And for 2 years we'd slip it into each others collections when the other wasn't looking, only to be found months later. I think maybe he has it now, though it's been years.

I don't think I'm gonna play lots of halloween themed music. Maybe a little bit.

Also don't know what gang to be, unless I get Crazy Rhythms Gang satin jackets made up in time.

it was LOUD. CircleSquare or whatever were kinda ok, Colder were interesting, at times boring, at times beautiful, they were more aggressive then the CD, like they punked it up, at times that was cool, other times, not as cool. Dead Combo were pretty silly, I hear Suicide, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Metal Urbain and Big Black are takikng a class-action lawsuit against them. Really, the drum and synth sounds good, but grafting sub-stooges/heartbreakers rock guitar makes it kinda boring. Mu however put on a GREAT show. One little japanese woman on stage dancing and singing on top of pre-recorded tracks making for a better show then most real "bands" I've seen in the last few years. Trevor Jackson's DJing between bands was mostly not stuff I'm that into, but after Mu he started off great, and I had the best time dancing that I've had in months, but within an hour he'd sped it up to some chemical bros acid type stuff that I couldn't handle so I left.

lots of DJs and scenemakers were there, of course, and a lot of CMJ'ers for Colder, but the place thinned out after Colder and Mu played hours later to a small, but extremely excited crowd.

what phil hasn't mentioned, for those that weren't there...there were literally almost 1,000 people there. It was insane. Some lame-os had to go to the Tribecca Grand to see LCD Soundsystem where if you didn't have a costume they made you buy a mask for 10 bucks! But the bulk of nyc seemed to be at Supreme Trading.

Ho, you better come to my Halloween party. But try not to come at peak hours - come early or later in the night. It's daylight savings so 2am-3am happens twice so in essence the party goes until 5am. I'll put you on the comp-list and your friends on the reduced list.

Awww thanks! I'm glad you came and had fun. I think it went really well, and looked like everyone was having fun. Couldn't believe so many people were dancing to Rex the Dog and Roman Fluegel. Looked like it could have been at Fabric! Well, ok, not really, but still it was pretty nice seeing people dancing. Except it didn't seem like there were that many gangs. I remember seeing a gang of TLC though. You should stick around NYC a few more weeks.
