This is the thread where we go to Corner Bistro and eat bacon cheeseburgers.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

what if you don't eat cheese?

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:51 (twenty-two years ago)

You should leave the city.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Which city? Green Bay?

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

No, not Green Bay.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe we should leave this thread alone for it's original purposes, Horace?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Preaching to the choir!

their soda pop seems to always be flat

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

yay rodney! now huck has made a positive contribution to my thread. :-)

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

dammit the menu for that place is making me drool

s1ocki (slutsky), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Is this place near FLYING BURRITOS?!?!?!

deanomgwtf!!!p%3Fmsgid%3D4581997 (deangulberry), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait a minute, I've been to this place!

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:58 (twenty-two years ago)

eating cheeseburgers will kill you. I saw it in a movie.

bnw (bnw), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:58 (twenty-two years ago)

the next NYC FAP should be at Florent at 4:30 am where we gorge ourselves on mussels!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:59 (twenty-two years ago)

alive alive o!

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 16:59 (twenty-two years ago)

oh damn, those are some good burgers.

kephm, Friday, 28 May 2004 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

yes 4:30 florent is a must.

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

we can do that afterwards.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

sweet!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

they have some seafood there, no?

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Seriously though, does early evening Wednesday the 2nd sound good for anyone? Cheeseburgers at Corner Bistro, then we go somewhere less crowded for beer and/or general ruin.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:16 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.restaurantflorent.com/

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I could make it by like 6 or so on Wednesday. Fridays I can leave early.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a "thing" on that Friday afternoon and I'm not sure how long it's going to take.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

well either way I'm there!

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

whooo! 6:30 Wednesday?

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

works for me!

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Sending an e-mail to yr yahoo addy w/ my new cell number.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

you rule! and how did you get a 212?

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:40 (twenty-two years ago)

i didn't! it's a 718.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

oh whoops! but those are rare too!

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

they had a few left.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

really? dammit I coulda got one 2 years ago then! I only know one dude with a 718 cell, he's had it forever.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I will be there too. This Canadian sublettor I had who drove a rickshaw and ate heads of lettuce while drunk I think hangs out there as he was always inviting me to go there with the other rickshaw drivers. Maybe we will see him and we can laugh.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

haha i remember the old days when having a 718 area code meant no one would ever return your phone call. now it's in demand!

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Williamsburg, natch.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

my area code is a style lab!

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:55 (twenty-two years ago)

East New York is a crack lab.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 28 May 2004 17:56 (twenty-two years ago)

pretty sure i can make this. bring on the grilled cheese and cheap mugs of draft beer.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 28 May 2004 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah dude, i'll be there!

geeta (geeta), Friday, 28 May 2004 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

:(

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 28 May 2004 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I've always wanted to eat a burger at the Corner Bistro, but unfortunately I am babysitting Wed 6-9:(

Mary (Mary), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Corner Bistro burgers are indeed fantastic, but it's become such a chore to go there (unless you go at, like, a Tuesday at 11:30 am) that my enthusiasm for them have lessened significantly.

Also, the last time I was there, I saw someone at the bar fall flat on his back and have an epileptic (sp?) seizure.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

...though I doubt it was brought on by one of their burgers.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 29 May 2004 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I would go to this, but there's no way I could get there by 6:30 on Wednesday. But let me know where you're going afterwards for drinks, and I could meet up.

o. nate (onate), Saturday, 29 May 2004 19:58 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, im going to be in montreal, so no burgers for me. but i'll have salt bagels instead.

phil-two (phil-two), Saturday, 29 May 2004 19:59 (twenty-two years ago)

jealous :(

Ian Johnson (orion), Saturday, 29 May 2004 20:00 (twenty-two years ago)

reviving. i wish this were right now but i will patiently wait for tomorrow evening.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 01:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I can still do this.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 02:10 (twenty-two years ago)

i think that i can show up for an hour or so -- if this is still on?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 02:32 (twenty-two years ago)

i am still jealous.

Ian Johnson (orion), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 02:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I might be in the city Thursday, so if anyone wants to go to lunch with hstencil and me, let us know.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 02:46 (twenty-two years ago)

actually, i just remembered that tomorrow night is a no-go (as if anyone's disappointed). i can do lunch w/ rosemary and hstencil on thursday, though.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 03:02 (twenty-two years ago)

du yu work downtown, Eisbar?

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 03:08 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, since april.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 03:12 (twenty-two years ago)

i have an 11:15 thing thursday but i could probably meet up around 1.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 03:13 (twenty-two years ago)

1 pm is actually perfect for me.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 03:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I could do one.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 03:20 (twenty-two years ago)

1 o'clock is the best time for me!

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 03:21 (twenty-two years ago)

one pm thursday it is then ... if y'all are up for it!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 03:25 (twenty-two years ago)

where are we meeting?

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 03:39 (twenty-two years ago)

at the corner bistro is fine by me ... or a more convenient place if one knows of one?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 03:57 (twenty-two years ago)

wait so corner bistro tomorrow and Thursday? Or not tomorrow, just Thursday? My head aches.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 04:05 (twenty-two years ago)

corner bistro is tomorrow night. unless you want to do both days, but that seems excessive.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 04:08 (twenty-two years ago)

we could do it for both, and whoever shows up for either (or both) does.

i'm up for thursday lunch, but can't do tomorrow night.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 04:09 (twenty-two years ago)

(sorry for any confusion!)

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 04:10 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll let hstencil call it.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 04:25 (twenty-two years ago)

that is way too much responsibility for a doofus like me.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 04:28 (twenty-two years ago)

no it's not.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 04:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Thursday lunch will be downown somewhere near where hstencil works. SO PICK A PLACE STENCE.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 12:47 (twenty-two years ago)

oh wait I thought it was Corner Bistro? That's downtown, right? I have no idea. Tomorrow lunch would work better for me than dinner tonight, tho.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

ack! is anyone still planning to come tonight, or should we just scrap it and call the corner bistro fap for tomorrow?

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

apparently there's a piss up happening in a brewery somewhere ;)

hehe, i love it when you new yoik types organise stuff :))

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

i may just go tonight regardless. wtf, a brother's gotta eat.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 12:58 (twenty-two years ago)

ah crap, this is up in the West Village? I dunno if I could justify travelling that far for lunch.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I am going to be going to 355 Broadway and 135 William Street tomorrow. If it's nice we should have a picnic lunch.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

that's really close to BURRITOVILLE! not that we have to go there...

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

i haven't been here yet but it looks cute. not a lot of vegetarian stuff, but you can probably get something modified.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:26 (twenty-two years ago)

i have a work-related event tonight, so i can't make it. i want to see people, though, so let's do something else soon.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:27 (twenty-two years ago)

FANCY A SEEING SMARTY JONES WIN THE TRIPLE CROWN IN PERSON THIS SATURDAY? FASSJWTCIPTS?

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

kitchenette is really, really good but skip breakfast and don't plan on eating dinner. the portions are out-of-control gigantic.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

fair enough.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

ooooh that place is close by!

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

i used to work next door, and one of my co-workers weighed another's kitchenette turkey-roasted pepper hummus wrap on her dieter's food scale. it clocked in at like 1.7lbs or thereabouts.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:40 (twenty-two years ago)

heavens!

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:41 (twenty-two years ago)

ouchie, that can't be good for you?????

us Brits enjoyed the Chat n Chew near Washington square (this is where all NYCers go ewwwwwwwww)

chris (chris), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

ouchie, that can't be good for you?????

ah, but that's what doggie bags are for!

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

this is where all NYCers go

never heard of it.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

read the post properly dude

chris (chris), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I did, still never heard of it.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

aw, chat n chew isn't that bad. it's just not worth the 2hr wait that usually occurs on weekends. coffee shop, which is around the corner on union square, is a different story. the next time someone suggests going there, they are dead to me.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Kitchenette's four-cheese macaroni is sooooo good, but feels like it would stop your heart if you ate the whole thing. That place is great though and doggie bags are definitely the way to go.

rasheed wallace (rasheed wallace), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

i think he was saying washington square is where all the nyc'ers go ewwwww.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Washington Square is where all the NYUers go to hackey-sack.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

or buy pot from rookie nypd officers.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:51 (twenty-two years ago)

the last time I was in Washington Square, I was super-high. Russ and I sat around watching squirrels for at least an hour.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:52 (twenty-two years ago)

funnily enough we walked through there and there were some incredibly annoying students off their heads chucking a nerf football around.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

sounds like a normal day.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

me and Jonnie did see some really good basketball somewhere round there though, on some courts right by a subway entrance

chris (chris), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Must have been at West 4th and 6th Ave.

o. nate (onate), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, that's def. where you saw the good street ball.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

that was it, marvellous stuff, some great fat kid who looked like he couldn't put on his pants without breaking sweat was dropping 3 pointers from all overthe place

chris (chris), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

thurs sounds better for me! also i am k-psyched to see tokyo rosemary!

geeta (geeta), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

THursday at Kitchenette for lunch? Who's up for it?

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Bueller?

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll be en route to boston, sorry.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Boston?

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

ja. just for the day, basically.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I am jealous.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

i can be at kitchenette thursday @ 1 pm. tis perfect time for me.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 3 June 2004 00:09 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll be there.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 3 June 2004 00:09 (twenty-two years ago)

yay! :-)

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 3 June 2004 00:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be there!

I can't wait to see you all again! I miss everyone!

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 3 June 2004 01:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I take it there was no FAP this evening? Sigh.

o. nate (onate), Thursday, 3 June 2004 02:23 (twenty-two years ago)

no. the ladies who lunch have outvoted me.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 3 June 2004 02:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah well, y'all knock back a cold one for me tomorrow.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 3 June 2004 02:28 (twenty-two years ago)

i love you, too, cindy!

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 3 June 2004 09:48 (twenty-two years ago)

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 3 June 2004 09:51 (twenty-two years ago)

oh wait, you mean thursday as in today? :(

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 3 June 2004 09:52 (twenty-two years ago)

hahaha! that's where i go whenever i eat burgers in nyc!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Thursday, 3 June 2004 09:53 (twenty-two years ago)

for those who eat pork products go for the bistro burger with bacon and cheese, it's classic

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Thursday, 3 June 2004 09:53 (twenty-two years ago)

do they make exceedingly good burgers?

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 3 June 2004 09:54 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, thursday today. sorry ken.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 3 June 2004 10:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I am feeling totally sick today. Not sure whether I'll be able to go. : (

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 3 June 2004 12:42 (twenty-two years ago)

kitchenette is really, really good but skip breakfast and don't plan on eating dinner. the portions are out-of-control gigantic.

i had the turkey on pumpernickel w/ brie and watercress. it seemed relatively normal-sized to me. nothing i'd call "out-of-control gigantic."

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 3 June 2004 22:06 (twenty-two years ago)

i think the entrees were the referent. i'm not sure about the portion size, but they're not exactly known for low-fat food.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 3 June 2004 22:15 (twenty-two years ago)

It was nice to see everyone. If you hadn't come, hstencil, I would hunted you down you and beaten you up.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 3 June 2004 22:33 (twenty-two years ago)

what she said.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 3 June 2004 22:36 (twenty-two years ago)

would HAVE argh

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 3 June 2004 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

wow that was a good lunch, but dammit I'm still sick.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 4 June 2004 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

:(

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 4 June 2004 02:12 (twenty-two years ago)

it was indeed very nice to see rosemary and hstencil again, as well as to meet jody beth. the food was good, and the company better!

get better soon, hstence!!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Friday, 4 June 2004 02:22 (twenty-two years ago)
