I hate the prescription sunglasses I got a few years ago...small frames, wtf was I thinking.

I tried the wayfarers but they looked horrible on me. I can't be trusted with expensive sunglasses because I lose them. Current favorites are $10 Target specials - dark red, round, and on the large side like so:

I found a pair of mirrored Aviators at Leeds festival last year and they're amazing. They make me look like goose from Top Gun.

I am a combination of ENBB and Rock Hardy. I bought expensive, really nice, prescription sunglasses two summers in a row and lost them within weeks of getting them. Now I have a pair of regular glasses converted into sunglasses but I hate them and never wear them because they're small and look more like medically-tinted glasses than stylish sunglasses. Rubbish.

baader's & ronans' glasses are HOTTT. I love aviators but they make me look like Count Chubulon.

I've got bangs to my eyebrows and a really round face so most any pair of non-lennon sunglasses make me look like a dome of Shelley Duvall hair+a black field+a semicircle of skin. Plus it's hard to find sunglasses that don't squish my big head. So forever I will squint.

well its just that when it comes to accessories, and i have to say sunglasses are just the most obvious example of this, political correctness has taken over so much that its basically impossible, or "socially impolite" if you like..to call someone out on their sunglasses, much less call them a cunt. i dont think its anyones fault per se that things have turned out this way, we're probably our own worst internal censors, but if deeznuts wants to call ronan out on this, i think thats fair play, don't you?

One of my ears is 1cm higher than the other, so sunglasses look wonky on me (or look straight but the arm hovers 1cm above my right ear.) Hence I have never worn them. I wear hats, pulled down low over the eyes. However, learning how to drive has made me realise I need some. And which to get? I am clueless. Will people laugh at me if I wear cheap £5 ones from Oxford Street? Are those racks unisex, or have I been trying on girl's glasses? Black? Brown? Metal rims? No rims? Big, yes, but how big? (I have a VERY small head.)

i almost never wear sunglasses, pretty much only when i'm driving. this is dumb, because my eyes are way sensitive to bright light, and may-septembet i'm pretty much walking around outdoors with my eyes screwed as tight as they can be without actually being closed. this is why my youthful good looks will soon expire. i just can't do it, though. there's something about sunglasses, deep down in my psyche, that i equate with 'flashness' i'm not really comfortable with. i think other people look great in sunglasses, but i have this crazy thing where, when i wear em, i feel like i look like i'm trying to be 'cool'. i am insane.

i remember my primary school teacher had her sunglasses stolen by a pupil (hello south london) and she flew into this crazy rage, screaming "i needed those because of my hay fever". but i didn't really know what the word "fever" meant, beyond the movie "saturday night fever", and assumed she was angry because she wanted to wear her sunglasses to a disco.

my frames are the second pair, with lenses the color of the first pair, and they cost a boatload but are probably my favorite possession.

Rockin' the Wayfs this summer! Black frames, tempted to go with some clear ones, but that would be silly now.

I think girls can pull off the wacky colours. They're a design classic, I bet you won't see many people wearing snowboard-dude Oakleys in 30 years time.

You will see variations on all the generic Oakley designs, they just won't stand out because they're functional sunglasses more than fashionable.

That said, at the Coachella festival pretty much every other person was wearing some sort of wayfarer or wayfarer knockoff.

Rocking some $15 Caravans

I have a pair of black Wayfairer Original Classics that I've had for 11 years. They are now several prescriptions old and don't have progressive lenses that I now need so I mostly wear them to play ultimate. Thinking of getting something new, but not sure what.

My wife's theory is that the more you pay for your sunglasses, the less likely you are to lose them, but I suspect that shifts on a case by case basis. I do know that I love my Ray-Bans, which may be only the third pair of sunglasses I've ever owned. Because I did lose the previous ones (in very exotic locales!).

Though did I lose them? I know exactly where they are/were, they were just irretrievable, so I suppose not so much lost as lost, as in, "lost to the sea." I have a friend who used to own the exact same style of glasses as me who dropped them in a music festival porta-potty. He said for a split second he debated fishing them out somehow. That's the downside of paying more for glasses.

Has it been discussed here yet that, when ostentatiously checking out somebody who has just entered the room, whether it is cooler to lift one's sunglasses up, or down?
