In LasVvegas you do missions for "The Boss", Mr. Tommy Vercetti. Maybe you have a conflict with him. I want them to make this shit so interesting and tense and funny, ohmygodohmygod. I just don't want to see Tommy dead, anything else is fine.

Your comfortable chairs already point at your TV? Also it'll be out first on the PS2. Also the analog controller is better for some of the fiddly stuff.

The PS3 will be out sometime next year or the year after, but there's a decent chance that it'll be backwards compatible. Also it's not like they'll stop making PS2 games: they still make Playstation games.

Finally got to see the trailer last night, even if it meant I had to constantly click and drag my Media player window around the screen to get it to work. Looks good even though I hate Guns n Roses.

No! Driving across interminable bridges in Vice City was bad enough! I don't want to practice my cruise control motorway driving when I've got a mission to do.

I read that they have tried to cut down on the barren areas like they had in Vice City, supposedly by having more pedestrian action or something.
The bridges weren't that bad were they? The bridge that spanned to the golf island was cool at night time, when it was light up with blue lights at the base and the familiar orange sodium lights on the top. Many a fly by on that one. god I'm sad.

how comes metal gear solid 3 is released here like 8 months after US? (amazon.co.uk says it's released in july 2005 while amazon.com says 1 nov 2004 wtf)

Perhaps the coolest aspect of radio stations, though, is the fact that each and every vehicle will play songs differently -- since every vehicle has different speakers inside them. As an example, normal cars have a more balanced sound playback while lowriders offer a huge amount of bass and low-end audio. Players will also have access to a new optional feature that allows them to adjust the sound level of their ride.

Outside of the game, fans will once again have the opportunity to purchase the soundtrack independently (Vice City did the same two years back). But to make this new soundtrack even better than the last, Rockstar has reached an agreement with Interscope Records to publish two different ways to get your hands on the music. The first is the regular edition double album that offers up key tracks for each radio station. But the second and more attractive way to get the music is via the giant box set -- an enormous package that contains eight overloaded CDs. Both versions of the soundtrack are expected to hit shelves on November 23...

-There will be a Harrier.

-There will be trains. You can hijack trains.

-Obviously, you can skydive, which means you can bail from planes.

-There's going to be a "no-fly zone". The other name for it? "Area 69". So we can safely assume various items will be for grabs here.

-As is in the video, there will be the Hoover Dam.

-There will be mountain biking competitions. A whole host of various "parlor games", in fact. Everything from street racing to Motocross to boxing seems to be on the agenda, from what I heard.

-Cars can be fitted with Nitrous (also obvious in the video)

-There will be a "Hoover Dam".

Chris, how do the vehicles handle? Have they changed anything, because the previous games were near perfect imho.

One thing thats kind of stupid is the $500 corn row haircut at the barber shop. This must be one upscale barber shop to charge $500 for a haircut.

There is also a cool way of making some extra money in Downtown. Off track betting. You can bet on horse races. Good times. I can;t wait to see what the "Vegas" section of the game looks like.

Although I might be able to get myself a copy tomorrow actually. But what if I do? GTA vs FT! daddy or chips!

have you checked the audio options menu....they usually have settings for sound efx and music volumes, you should be able to adjust it to your liking.

About 6 hours in now (done nothing else all day) and obviously it's too soon to judge, but...I can't help thinking I enjoyed the atmosphere of vice city more. This may change though, I've not travelled very far yet.

I think Vice City is oh-so-just-about a better game than the third one due to the increased ease of play, I found GTA3 more irritating than VC at most times, and plus there are tonnes of extra things in VC like choppers, bikes, buying property, etc.
Although, as most people have pointed out, the graphics and the atmosphere of the city in GTA3 was far superior to VC.
It would be cool if R* remade the third one with some of the cool extras like being able to pop tyres and shoot people inside vehicles.

i played for about two hours last night, it took me three goes to get the first bike bit right because i am shit. i was having great difficulty following the blue dots on the radar doo-dah...

i'm very afeared that i will spend ages playing pool and silly arcade games rather than "getting on with it".

Nothing wrong with that. I think the game actually encourages dawdling around. Right now, I'm running through the missions fairly straight through, but I feel like I'm missing a lot. Didn't do much of the gang wars stuff, and right now I'm blocked from doing that.

Right now, all I'll say is wait 'til you get out of Los Santos. You have no idea where this game is going to take you. It's nothing but amazing.

They don't seem to be very good at killing people that aren't really easy to kill anyway, but it looks good.

I am gradually getting to the stage where all the missions open to me are ones I'm stuck on, though. I keep messing up 'Wrong Side Of The Tracks', and I haven't even tried the Cesar race mission because I'm crap at driving and all the horror stories I've heard about it so far have put me off. I may do some burglary.

YES. And it's not even like I'm bad at rhythm action games, I'm a bloody expert, I've played them all, right down to britney's dance beat. This just felt like the most unforgiving one I've ever played though. Eventually I came up with a crazy theory - it judges when you release the buttons, not when you hit them. So hitting them dead on time won't necessarily work if you hold them down for too long, you've got to make sure really quickly tap them too.

I know this sounds insane, and might just be nonsense, but...well.

Cesar's lowrider race wasn't that hard -- the pseudo-Impala car (the Blade?) has awful shitty handling but if you can get a Voodoo (late '50s lead-sled with tailfins & hydraulics) that seems to handle much better.

Trust me, there are far, far worse missions. The novelty of hearing David Cross in a GTA game wears off quickly once you find out what you have to do for his sorry ass.

The key to winning races is to get ahead, then drive conservatively. I usually hate these, but I don't find that they're as annoying here (although the lowrider race gave me fits - at least it's short).

I'm just about finished with the Syndicate missions in San Fierro - finished Woozie, but I hope to god that I don't have to complete the David Cross missions to move on.

Dan: the eating isn't that big an imposition. You can go two game days without eating before you start losing energy, and if you're doing missions then you'll probably need the energy boost anyway. The weight training isn't that bad either, do like 25 reps on the bench press and you hit your limit for the day.

I did the sound system one second try though, by some way too and I'm, rubbish at that sort of thing.

The forklift truck one was hard - I think every now and then you need to get off the truck to help out ryder shoot down the oncoming guards.

i'm going to try and new way of stealing police cars tonight (by towing it back to my garage - the police don't arrest you for forklifting their cars! so maybe not towing either!)

i think as usual with these things, finishing him off as soon as poss is the way forward. the good thing about the mission is it gives you a semi(automatic) even if you fail it, which is handy...

even my low-rider is green! i am in love with the lowrider hopping game.

I got out the far end of the tunnel in just business, and then exploded, grrrrrrr

the player target works by finding what you need on the map (I use it to find a pay n spray) clicking on it and instead of the easy to miss icon on yr radar, there's a 'kin huge red dot to aim for

pimping missions are ace, and a money spinner too.

The NPC AI's definitely an improvement, you can just wait around in a busy place and you'll see a shootout/drug deal/old woman with baseball bat road rage incident. Has anybody seen a plane crash yet?

i've found one down by the railway tracks, but couldn't build up enough speed to clear it.

yeah unique jumps are a cool way to get cash quick, also porkpie not sure about the barn jump you mention, i just cleared it completely and it gave it to me but perhaps its a different jump.

Finally did just business last night, which was a relief. I need to put in a concerted effort on it though, which is going to be tricky as I'm away all weekend and football manager 2005 is arriving on Friday.

I've also seen a couple of pedestrians stuck under the pavement with just their heads bopping on the surface. I was in the middle of a frantic run at the time so didn't have time to stop and tread on them.
