Wasn't expecting Iannucci to go down this route, but looks like he's being playful with the source material and trailer is funny.

Not a fan of Iannucci, but the trailer looks promising.

I started reading this when I heard about the film. It's full of typical Dickensian whimsy which should lend itself well to this approach, interesting to see how he will tackle the first part which is much more brutal & moving, though not without some strangeness; the dialogue of the scene in the trailer where he's told of his mother's death is more or less straight off the page, though i hope the jaunty music won't be present.

Love a bit of Dickens and that trailer looks great tbh

I initially liked the trailer/cast/look of The Death of Stalin and absolutely despised the movie - this could be much better than his last is the most charitable comment I can add at this point.
