I would never have thought to pair "invertebrate" with "affiliate" in my entire life.

I actually watched 5 minutes of DAYS OF OUR LIVES tonight. The guy playing John Black is as bad as I remember, plus he has some crazy hair issues going on, too.

Yes, THIS is my Friday night people. Next I'm going to fold laundry, woo!

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 03:45 (fifteen years ago) link

i put things like shampoo, conditioner, etc. into small travel bottles. super exciting.

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 03:53 (fifteen years ago) link

try to quell your envy.

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 03:54 (fifteen years ago) link

Packing is so not fun. See, I'm not going to really start packing for our trip until Monday night. That way I can do it in a rushed panic.

I did stack up a bunch of books to take along, but that's IT until Monday.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 04:08 (fifteen years ago) link

Plus Maui >>>>>>>>> Michigan. The packing will be So Worth It!

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 04:09 (fifteen years ago) link

awww. yeah i hope so. i am not actually packed bc i have to do laundry tomorrow morning.

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 04:21 (fifteen years ago) link

The laundry part of the equation is a Complicating Factor. That's part of why I'm going to be up late Monday. I'm sure you'll be fiiiiiiine, though tehresa - really, don't you just need, like, three swimming suits for Maui and that's about it?

BASEMENT FIXED LESSON ALWAYS KNOW PLUMBER

BLACK BEYONCE, Saturday, 28 June 2008 05:28 (fifteen years ago) link

Yay, that's awesome news, John!

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 16:05 (fifteen years ago) link

yes congrats!

woooh i am t home in a/c while clothes are in dryer at laundromat. it's hot today!

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 16:06 (fifteen years ago) link

I think I slept for a solid 11 hours and now I feel all woozy. I suppose I should eat some breakfast or something.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 16:06 (fifteen years ago) link

It is thunderstorming out here!

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 16:06 (fifteen years ago) link

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 16:12 (fifteen years ago) link

That is a crazy forecast. Or maybe it is not? It seems like it might rain every day in Hawaii and still be gorgeous every day...

Okay, I'm still envious.

As for the 11 hours of sleep, yes it was awesome!

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 16:15 (fifteen years ago) link

the last time we did a big family trip like this, we were in destin, fl. and it rained the entire week. after a week of being in a condo with my family, we almost killed each other. dnw repeat!!!!

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 16:16 (fifteen years ago) link

Yeah, I can see where that would be bad. I still have bad memories of the trip to Mendocino, CA that we took with my family when I was, like, 14 or something. It was cold out, boring, and there was nothing to do at all. Not even a tv in the hotel room.

Mendocino = good place for a honeymoon, probably not much else (at least circa 1987 or so)

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 17:00 (fifteen years ago) link

spoke too soon ;_;

BLACK BEYONCE, Saturday, 28 June 2008 17:11 (fifteen years ago) link

oh noes :(

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 17:18 (fifteen years ago) link

i am really bad at packing :( i feel like i'm bringing too much, but i am so paranoid about being unprepared.

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 17:22 (fifteen years ago) link

Packing sucks, but the things that you might forget are probably something you can get where you are going. (toothbrush, for example) OR possibly something you could make do without (pajamas). For Maui, I would not want to forget swimming suit(s), sunscreen (!), and a camera.

John - I'm sorry that it is still a problem. That sucks!

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 17:49 (fifteen years ago) link

eh. plumber dude coming back on monday with HARDCORE DRAIN REAMING ACTION, so all should be well about $100 from now.

B, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:16 (fifteen years ago) link

weird

LACK BEYONCE, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:16 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah... it's just the range of activities we have planned - horsebackriding, beach, hiking, etc. - all require different attire.

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:19 (fifteen years ago) link

USE SCUBA GEAR FOR ALL

BLACK BEYONCE, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:21 (fifteen years ago) link

B. LACK BEYONCE

^^^ somehow makes a lot of sense

Wow, you do have a lot planned. I'm no help with packing; I think I have already proved that. ;_; But when you get to horsebackriding, I'm REALLY at a loss.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:21 (fifteen years ago) link

I can see that John would be prepared, however.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:22 (fifteen years ago) link

JODPHURS OVER WETSUIT. ALSO SPURS.

BLACK BEYONCE, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:24 (fifteen years ago) link

Did you know that John's motto is: ALWAYS BE PREPARED?

Yes, the question mark is part of it.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:26 (fifteen years ago) link

Also, his fashion sense has not changed much since high school.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:26 (fifteen years ago) link

we are going to rent snorkling gear i think!

i just talked to sister and have decided that i should remove a lot of clothing from my suitcase. unnecessary.

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:40 (fifteen years ago) link

Snorkeling is A++++++ awesome fun. We went on our trip to the Florida Keys in 1990 - omg I would do that again in a heartbeat.

Glad your sister is helping you out! You guys are going to have so much fun.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:48 (fifteen years ago) link

we tried snorkeling in destin. there were lots of giant sting rays (this was pre-irwin impalement RIP). it was very cold. and also rainy. we rented wet suits. it was ok, but i think hawaiian snorkling will trump gulf snorkeling no question.

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:51 (fifteen years ago) link

We had good weather when we snorkeled - I think the scariest thing we saw was tiny a little jellyfish (at least in the area we were taken to). It was pretty great. BUT OMG HAWAIIAN SNORKELING SOUNDS SOOOOOO AWESOME.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 18:59 (fifteen years ago) link

I have to get on my treadmill now and walk 5.5 miles and I just realllllllly don't wanna. ;_;

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 19:01 (fifteen years ago) link

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 19:13 (fifteen years ago) link

tehresa, Saturday, 28 June 2008 20:12 (fifteen years ago) link

That is pretty cute!

As for what to pack, I'd go with the first sister's advice... it's just easier to not have too much stuff.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 28 June 2008 20:56 (fifteen years ago) link

mook (not ilxor mookieproof) and i have just returned from an evening of dedicating ourselves to the consumption of all malternative beverages on the menu of the "OTTER STOP INN". i am injured.

also the big loser of the evening is the bacardi mango mojito. it tastes like freshly cut grass that has been sprayed by an unneutered female cat.

BNLACE$ BEYONDCE, Sunday, 29 June 2008 06:29 (fifteen years ago) link

probably should lie down about now.
