"Divorce Song" would be my POO I think - although now I think we might have actually done that thread? It's the most complete delivery of everything Liz Phair offered in terms of ache and honesty and hating someone you once loved and all of that. Fucking amazing piece of writing, one of the best songs of all 90s rock.

Can anyone tell me why the song "Support System" is mixed with the vocals so fucking low? It is more or less an instrumental with her mumbling in the background. And then whistling.

She's a grown up, and presumably doing just fine. She was terrible live, which probably hurt her career. I think Barbara Manning (who's also had a 50th birthday, but didn't get an ILM shout-out) talked at some points about the looks thing. It is what it is. I like some Liz Phair songs. I like more Barbara Manning songs. I wish them both the best.

And seriously, Jeremy Engle is one great song.

She was horrible live. There's no need to lie about that. Had a lot of good songs on album, used her looks for what they were, never really knew what to do in front of an audience. Revisionist history isn't helpful.
