Me and my moneyWith a dream and a gunI'm hoping my money don't point that gun at anyoneMe and my moneyLike Butch and the Sundance KidTrying to understand why he did what he didWhy he did what he did
We got the elevator, I hit the 33rd floorWe had a room up top with the panoramic views like nothing you'd ever seenbeforeHe went to sleep in the bidet and when he awokeHe ran his little money fingers through yellow pagesCalled up escort services and ordered some okey dokeForty minutes later there came a knock at the doorIn walked this big bad ass baboon into my bedroom with three money whores'Hi! My name is Sunshine - these are my girlsLace my palm with silver baby and oh yeah, they'll rock your world'So I watched pay-per-view and polished my shoes and my gunWas diggin' old Kurt Cobain sing about lithiumThere came a knock at the door and in walked Sunshine'What's up? You'd better get your ass in here boy, your money's having toomuch of a good time!'
Me and my moneyDrove in search of the sunMe and my moneyDon't point that gun at anyoneMe and my moneyLike Billy The KidTrying to understand why he did what he didWhy he did what he did
Got tickets to see Sheena Easton, the money was highSaid it was a burning ambition to see her before he diedWe left before encores, he couldn't sit stillSheena was a blast baby but my money was illWe went to play black-jack, kept hitting twenty threeCouldn't help but notice this Mexican just staring at meOr was it my money? I couldn't be sureIt's not like you'd never seen a money in rollerblades and dungarees beforeNow don't test my patience 'cause we're not about to runThat's a bad ass money boy and he's packing a gun'My name is Rodriguez', he says with death in his eye'I've been chasing you for a long time amigos, and now your money's gonna die!'
Me and my moneyDrove in search of the sunMe and my moneyWe don’t wanna kill no MexicanBut we got ten itchy fingersOne thing to declareWhen the money is highYou do not stareYou do not stareYou do not stare
Looks like we got ourselves a Mexican standoff here boyhuh...And I ain’t about to runPut your gun down boyhuh huh...How did I get mixed up with this fucking money anyhow?

You don't have to talk all nightI'm a man who can't say noYou don't have to twist my armJust point me where you want to go
Take me to the action, take me to the trackTake me to a party if they're bettin' in the backI've been working all my life, can't afford to waitLet me call my wife so I can tell her I'll be late
I want the easy, easy monkeyEasy monkey, I could get luckyOh, things could go rightI want the easy, easy monkeyEasy monkey, maybe this one timeMaybe tonight
You don't have to try too hardI don't need a song and danceI don't need an invitationIf you've got a game of chance
Take me to the tables, take me to the fightsRun me like the numbers, roll me like the diceWhen you're counting on a killing, always count me inTalk me into losin' just as long as I can win
I want the easy, easy monkeyEasy monkey, I want the good timesOh, I never hadI want the easy, easy monkeyOh, I want the good lifeI want it bad
Easy monkey, you say I fool myselfBut better me than being a fool for someone elseI got a hot slot machine of a system ready to go...Easy monkey, I got a one-track mindAnd a good reputation laying on the lineI'll either come back a bum or a kingBaby I don't know
You don't have to start a fightI'm a man who can't say noIf you've got a little risky businessJust point me where you want to go
Take me to the power, take me to the heatTake me to the cleaners if it's open to the streetSomething's got to pay off, something's got to breakSomeone's got a fortune that they're begging me to take
I want the easy, easy monkeyEasy monkey, I could get luckyThings could go rightI want the easy, easy monkeyEasy monkey, maybe just this timeOh maybe tonight
Easy monkey, oh, I don't want no hard cashI just want the easy monkey...oh...I could get lucky

When I was little - like 7 or 8, I guess - my mother used to listen to ABBA and I actually thought these WERE the lyrics. Or at least I thought it was, "All the things I could do, if I had a little monkey, in a rich man's world." All I could think was, "Why does she want a little monkey? How would that help?"
