By saying this, Phil accidentally makes a case against his own side of the coin. He backhandedly implies here that the war is for reasons of maintaining an image and Rambo-esque chest beating to keep the rest of the world in its place in case they decide to try anything, rather than for actual reasons of necessity :)

Ha ha. Anyway, I'd like to add that Anselmo did already OD and die circa 1995, when Pantera made the mistake of letting him hire EYEHATEGOD as opening act. He was revived, EHG were immediately kicked off the tour, and the Cobain/Morrison/Shakur matyrdom trinity was preserved.
