ugh.

forksclovetofu, Monday, 21 May 2007 04:35 (sixteen years ago) link

So now we have our choice of Spurs or Jazz out of the western conference. This is a choice? And Detroit is just fugly and the Cavs are essentially four guys and LeBron. What's a fan to do? I just can't work up enthusiasm for any of this at this stage.

Aimless, Monday, 21 May 2007 17:01 (sixteen years ago) link

Me neither. I didn't even bother watching the game yesterday.

Alex in SF, Monday, 21 May 2007 17:49 (sixteen years ago) link

The suspension abomination shows that as fucked up as MLB is, the other sports are worse.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 21 May 2007 20:33 (sixteen years ago) link

Go Cavs!

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 21 May 2007 22:05 (sixteen years ago) link

OMG GO BLAZERS!

Clay, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 01:02 (sixteen years ago) link

hahahaha Morbs' weak trolling is awesome

SECEDE

David R., Thursday, 24 May 2007 03:34 (sixteen years ago) link

God the Cavs are awful. Why is LeBron playing so badly? Why do they always piss away their huge leads in the third quarter? Why are they playing like the least clutch team in the history of professional sports?

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 25 May 2007 03:23 (sixteen years ago) link

MIKE BROWN MUST GO

brownie, Friday, 25 May 2007 16:50 (sixteen years ago) link

i'd be happy with a spurs-pistons finals as long as it means the spurs are defeated in a most humiliating fashion. idk what you guys would get stoked about, besides golden state there's nobody in the west worth rooting for, and besides detroit there's nobody in the east worth rooting for!!!!!!!!!!!!

cankles, Friday, 25 May 2007 17:32 (sixteen years ago) link

All the exclamation points in the world won't make that statement right. But yeah, eff the Spurs.

Dimension 5ive, Friday, 25 May 2007 18:20 (sixteen years ago) link

well who were you hoping to see go all the way, dogg? especially in the east - i'd rather watch detroit than pretty much any other team in the conference.

cankles, Friday, 25 May 2007 18:27 (sixteen years ago) link

I didn't realize you were talking about the playoffs only. My team didnt make the playoffs in the West, but they were fun to root for all year, and they improved a lot. Not to mention WINNING THE DRAFT LOTTERY. As for the Bucks, well, they had bad luck all year, plus their plan was pretty bad to begin with.

I am rooting for Detroit as well.

Dimension 5ive, Friday, 25 May 2007 19:20 (sixteen years ago) link

i wanted the spurs to get sunned ;o{

am0n, Saturday, 26 May 2007 02:37 (sixteen years ago) link

cankles original statement re spurs vs. detroit was basically otm. fuck the spurs! fuck em a lot! i am a detroit fan and i'm not saying they're playing their best game, but damn, fuck a spurs! wld be so great to see detroit win after 05, but you never know... i'm not counting any chickens even though i do love those boys with all my hearts.

tehresa, Saturday, 26 May 2007 07:35 (sixteen years ago) link

CAVS: U GONNA GET SWEPT

forksclovetofu, Saturday, 26 May 2007 15:48 (sixteen years ago) link

well now, that was unexpected!!!
that game seemed really dirty at times, though! those boys be playin like punks.

tehresa, Sunday, 27 May 2007 03:09 (sixteen years ago) link

The improbably named Utah Jazz win one. Uh, whoopee?

Aimless, Sunday, 27 May 2007 17:30 (sixteen years ago) link

My thinking is/was Detroit in four and San Ant in six.
Then Detroit in six.

forksclovetofu, Sunday, 27 May 2007 17:46 (sixteen years ago) link

Yeah. I was around back when Maravich played for LSU, so I know why the Jazz are named the Jazz. But it still doesn't make any sense and never will. Rather like the LA Lakers, who moved there from Minnesota. People are so used to it they forget what an idiotic name it is for LA.

Heck, I was around back when Kareem was named Lew Alcindor and was a superstar on the UCLA all-freshman team... because frosh couldn't play on the varsity teams back then.

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 28 May 2007 03:26 (sixteen years ago) link

And the Indians swept the Tigers. Life is good.

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 28 May 2007 03:32 (sixteen years ago) link

Spurs lead 3-1. No end to the thrills.*

*Technically speaking, what does not start cannot end.

Aimless, Tuesday, 29 May 2007 16:47 (sixteen years ago) link

hi hoops board. d-will put the whole team on his back, but its not going to be enough. okur has become invisible man. no bench help in game 3. man, i hate the spurs

6335, Wednesday, 30 May 2007 06:56 (sixteen years ago) link

Well I was clearly wrong about the cavs. I only watched the first game in both of these series; is there a chance in hell utah or cleveland could win?

forksclovetofu, Thursday, 31 May 2007 01:11 (sixteen years ago) link

Er, mass food poisoning? Airplane crash? Gambling scandal?

Aimless, Thursday, 31 May 2007 01:48 (sixteen years ago) link

there's always a chance for cleveland, with detroit's history of braeking heart all time in the playoffs. though i can't see them winning a finals against s.a.

tehresa, Thursday, 31 May 2007 02:15 (sixteen years ago) link

i cant see pistons or cavs taking more than 1 game offa spurs

jhøshea, Thursday, 31 May 2007 13:59 (sixteen years ago) link

awww goin' to ot and i can't watch! i knew this was a bad week to skip bars!

tehresa, Friday, 1 June 2007 03:12 (sixteen years ago) link

grrrrrrrrr

tehresa, Friday, 1 June 2007 03:59 (sixteen years ago) link

omg that was as good a basketball game as i've ever seen

before these last two games i thought the pistons would've had a GRATE shot against the spurs, and i still think they would - they're better than they were in 05 imo and they took san antone to game 7 last time round.

cankles, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:02 (sixteen years ago) link

otoh i don't think the cavs could take 1 out of 50 against the spurs. i dont like the way this looks!!!!!!!!

cankles, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:02 (sixteen years ago) link

also; jesus christ @ lebron

cankles, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:05 (sixteen years ago) link

cankles otm. Seriously LeBron was totally whoa.

Clay, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:14 (sixteen years ago) link

LEBRON = GOD

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:14 (sixteen years ago) link

wow that game.

brownie, Friday, 1 June 2007 13:07 (sixteen years ago) link

Lebron was so great I had chills

speechless at that GODlike performance

Stormy Davis, Friday, 1 June 2007 13:18 (sixteen years ago) link

That was amazing. Instant classic. Lebron finally realizing he is unstoppable. A few days ago, someone on the ESPN radio was wondering aloud if maybe this would be James' version of Jordan's series against the Cavs, a moment you can look back on after a player's been canonized and point to and say "there. that's the beginning of the Legend."

Granny Dainger, Friday, 1 June 2007 21:47 (sixteen years ago) link
