i always thought how that one came together was "hey - what if when you're outside someone's apartment you could just send them a 'yo' with an app? there's probably a million other ways it could be used like that too!"

but then it turned out that there was only one use case, and they had already thought of it

i just did it for fun, iirc obvs it started as a joke but then they came up with the more serious use case of having accounts that were called like "its going to rain in cleveland today" and when that was true they would send you a yo, not sure if that ever happened tho

I've come round to really wanting something like Yo now but only if 'Yo' was just the default and you could choose your own one word with different individuals.

The people who get to senior positions in companies like Twitter will have imbibed large quantities of "leadership" training, digital change management whitepapers etc and then Elon comes in and is like, what is your favorite color, okay great right answer i'm putting you in charge of global marketing

occurs to me that this will also kill all the apps that professional marketers use to schedule track etc their tweets doesnt seem good for a site whos advertising is cratering, and it wont actually kill those apps which generally support multiple platforms theyll just drop twitter functionality which is so much worse than if they just died
