Anyway this FAP is too far away for me to think about just yet but I will be wearing red boots.

Ally (mlescaut), Monday, 6 October 2003 23:20 (twenty years ago) link

What has Spencer done that he and Felicity have to meet in prison?

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 7 October 2003 08:36 (twenty years ago) link

That's not surprising; it's weirder that Felicity's going to prison.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 12:42 (twenty years ago) link

I'm so very excited about Spencer coming to town... but can we pretty please not go to Lucky Cheng's? When I was really really really really broke, I tried to get a job there, and I'd rather not show my face around there again. Though, I guess it could be fun

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 14:04 (twenty years ago) link

I am nixing LC's. Mainly cos I hate their name.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 14:11 (twenty years ago) link

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 14:12 (twenty years ago) link

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 9 October 2003 21:09 (twenty years ago) link

This is my usual tourist activity!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 9 October 2003 21:18 (twenty years ago) link

OK, now can we talk about where we are going?

Mary (Mary), Monday, 20 October 2003 22:11 (twenty years ago) link

not that it matters one iota, but i'm seriously doubting i can make any faps with cmj, a job and real-life obligations all coming to a head this week. i hope i can hang out, but it's very questionable.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Monday, 20 October 2003 23:14 (twenty years ago) link

Y. congrats on yer new j-o-b. What is it?

Mary (Mary), Monday, 20 October 2003 23:21 (twenty years ago) link

Yanc3y, hope you can make it out - would love to meet you!

Yes, let's talk about where to go. I have no idea, really.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 20 October 2003 23:25 (twenty years ago) link

Should we head back to Botanica? We haven't been there in ages...But others please weigh in with suggestions. I am totally flexi, you know? Also: if we get there earlyish and most of NYC is at CMJ maybe it won't be so crowded...Wait, Ally, you're not going to see Joan Jett this night are you? By the way, this is Sat. night-- Who can make it, and who will be at CMJ? (Were there thoughts of a pre-meet on Thurs.? If so, I'll be in Hoboken this night at Black Box Recorder, but could maybe meet up before or after, depending.)

Mary (Mary), Monday, 20 October 2003 23:34 (twenty years ago) link

Botanica sounds fine by me...I'm not sure if I'm going to go to the JJ/AWK show anymore so whenever anyone wants to hang it ok by me!

Ally-zay, Monday, 20 October 2003 23:38 (twenty years ago) link

Spence, when do you get in and where are you staying and what are your plans so far?

Mary (Mary), Monday, 20 October 2003 23:43 (twenty years ago) link

Staying in Chelsea. Getting in on Thursday night, will likely be busy that night. No plans for Friday or Saturday night. ILX is penned in at the top of my list for Saturday night. Friday, I'll be out and about and would love to meet up - I have no problem with mixing friends. I'm leaving on Monday afternoon, so I'll be down for other hanging out too (exhibits, brunches etc) while I'm around.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 00:10 (twenty years ago) link

Great: I am looking forward to meeing you!

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 00:22 (twenty years ago) link

i will be at cmj on thurs but other than that i am down with the plan (whatever the plan is)

geeta (geeta), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 00:31 (twenty years ago) link

Meee too!! We should take Spencer shopping!

Allyzay, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 00:32 (twenty years ago) link

What show is Geeta going to see? Let's take SC to Woodbury Commons!

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 00:51 (twenty years ago) link

I bought a jean jacket which I'm not at all convinced is me, but I'm ready to RAWK!.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 02:22 (twenty years ago) link

If we go shopping, I'm looking for a classic black sport-coat/suit-jacket, probably 3-button; Century 21?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 02:29 (twenty years ago) link

Yeah! We can go there! I haven't been there in ages and ages. They would also have such things at Woodbury; doesn't Woodbury have an Off 5th?

Allyzay, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 02:31 (twenty years ago) link

Oof! Enon & The Rapture & Mars Volta are playing on Saturday night. Though Enon goes on at 8 and Rapture at 9, so I guess I could come by afterwards. Oof! But Soviet is playing that night too.

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 02:59 (twenty years ago) link

The Rapture are playing for free at Amoeba records in Hollywood on Wednesday!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 03:31 (twenty years ago) link

But Phil, all of those bands suck...

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 03:40 (twenty years ago) link

Soviet is not bad at all. But I'm not going to go to that show! Phil come to our party instead.

Allyzay, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 03:42 (twenty years ago) link

But Ally, have you seen them in person, in concert, on Halloween, while you are biding your time for Stereo Total? They are a band that is better enjoyed on the CD long player.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 03:44 (twenty years ago) link

if there's gonna be a brunch, i think that i can show up for that.

Little Big Macher (llamasfur), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 03:59 (twenty years ago) link

for brunch, I think I'll be feeling a place with Mimosa's and free bread!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:05 (twenty years ago) link

3 free mimosas or bloody mary's with brunch at essex!

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:11 (twenty years ago) link

Allyzay, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:16 (twenty years ago) link

i'll be at cmj thurs -- there's a secret guest that nite that some of you popsters might be interested in...

geeta (geeta), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:17 (twenty years ago) link

I would really like to see Enon and Rapture. Rapture did a good show in DC and I really like me some Enon. ARGH. But frankly I'm down for whatever, you know me holmes.

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:30 (twenty years ago) link

In full disclosure let me say that the food, though tasty, arrives cold. However, 3 drinks included with a $12 brunch...not too shabby...

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:35 (twenty years ago) link

Thursday night DFA/Output showcase at the Tribeca Grand Hotel!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:36 (twenty years ago) link

ALSO, I'll be holding a brunch residency at the Essex.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:36 (twenty years ago) link

(Geeta: Is it David Bowie?) Oh DFA yawn... Please promise me there will be no talk of music at this FAP.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:37 (twenty years ago) link

Essex is very crowded so don't forget to make reservations.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:41 (twenty years ago) link

haha i wish it wz bowie!! think initials b and s

geeta (geeta), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:41 (twenty years ago) link

Belle and Sebastian? What is the original show you are seeing, anyway?

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:44 (twenty years ago) link

dude:

Indulge your inner lush at this lofty Lower East Side restaurant whose all-weekend $12 brunch special includes unlimited mimosas, screwdrivers, or horseradish-heavy Bloody Marys.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:47 (twenty years ago) link

nb "unlimited"

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:48 (twenty years ago) link

Sorry Spence, used to be unlimited, now it's down to three...get there soon before they cut you off all together...

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 04:48 (twenty years ago) link
