Cornelius' 'Ball-In Kick Off' nearly killed it for me once even though it was mixed into 'Bentley's Gonna Sort You Out' and his remix of Coldcut perplexes everyone but me. Otherwise, I have no other personal killer tales.

Yep - unlike Dancing in the Street, You Can't Hurry Love, Reach out I'll Be There, Twist and Shout, and others, it's not a dancefloor filler but a dancefloor killer for the old folks at a wedding.

The best songs have enormous variations in tempo, beat and dynamics. Which makes, for instance, "Supper's Ready" useless for dancing.

If you ever DJ to a mexican crowd any song by Sonora Santanera is a filler.

Like, honestly, I've been going to all sorts of different events in Mexico for the past 10 years and everytime they start playing Sonora Santanera around midnight (Selena, too, sometimes) is the cue for people to stand up and fill the dancefloor.

i got some djing duties at a party the other night and while 'we are family' and 'good times' were obvious winners 'tell you (today)' completely cleared the dancefloor, i thought i was on a surefire winner and then i just felt sad.

Last night I heard Michael Jackson - PYT mixed before Estelle - American Boy and into some remix of Gap Band - You Dropped a Bomb on Me. It was pretty good!

I always keep Robyn on my iPod, cause when I go to a private party and my iPod becomes the source of music, sooner or later a girl will walk up to it and either put Robyn on or ask 'why is there no Robyn on here?'

'Call Me Al' used to get people dancing a couple of years ago, not sure about now though for some reason. Old nineties pop/rap/r'n'b - 'Return Of The Mac', 'Creep', 'NEver Gonna Get It', 'California Love', 'Keep Their Heads Ringing' etc always gets people my age on the dancefloor.

If you live in Latin America there seems like there has been one or two Pitbull fillers every year for the past 10 years or so. Dude is a fucking party franchise in here it's getting ridonculous. This summer it's 'Como yo le doy' and 'Fun'. Last summer we had 'El Taxi' which was an annoying remake of 'Murder She Wrote', before that it was 'Timber' 'Dont stop the party' 'sube las manos pa arriba'...

I'll bet Pitbull's NBA Playoffs theme from 2014 would be a killer though
