Surmounter, Thursday, 6 September 2007 20:26 (sixteen years ago) link

Hi Ramzi!

Of course I will still call you Surmounter. It makes us seem weirder.

accentmonkey, Thursday, 6 September 2007 21:01 (sixteen years ago) link

Surmounter! I will be in your hood, watching your McKellens lear about the place on Sunday Sept 16!

Maybe you can tell me how bad my seats are, and I can bring you some real Texas salsa or something?

I don't sound like Dianne Wiest in person or on the phone, though.

patita, Thursday, 6 September 2007 21:23 (sixteen years ago) link

Sigh.

accentmonkey, Friday, 7 September 2007 11:35 (sixteen years ago) link

I wuv him.

accentmonkey, Friday, 7 September 2007 11:35 (sixteen years ago) link

He was great fun. I am planning on falling asleep in Merrion Square listening to "Babies".

kv_nol, Friday, 7 September 2007 11:47 (sixteen years ago) link

I cannot get Mister M to see the point of either Pulp or solo-Jarvis, and I keep assuring him that this is because he has never had the live experience.

I remember seeing Pulp on the His 'n' Hers tour in the SFX in Dublin, and they apologised profusely for the fact that there was no bar in the venue. Jarvis assured us that if he'd known that, he never would have booked the place.

accentmonkey, Friday, 7 September 2007 11:49 (sixteen years ago) link

Looool... Shortly after "I will Kill again" he announced that he would be wandering amongst us that night. I said to neighbour that it was decent of him to give us a warning like that :)

kv_nol, Friday, 7 September 2007 11:59 (sixteen years ago) link

How's your onimoedness?

aldo, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:10 (sixteen years ago) link

Dying here. Thinking of lunch. Looks like soup (or more cornflakes).

kv_nol, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:11 (sixteen years ago) link

You should have a cupasoup with a slice of really fresh white bread broken up in it. That used to be my favourite hangover lunch when I needed them.

accentmonkey, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:20 (sixteen years ago) link

Fish soup? <waits for vomiting noise>

aldo, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:21 (sixteen years ago) link

Careful, Aldo. He can hit you from where he is. That's how Onimoed he is.

accentmonkey, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:24 (sixteen years ago) link

I haven't been onimo-ed for ages. I anticipate getting v drunk tomorrow watching the Scotland game (and then the England game, and probably two of the Ireland game. My latest attempt at losing weight will no doubt crumble in a pile of kebab "meat".

I am treating myself to a half day today, having made up oodles of time.

onimo, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:27 (sixteen years ago) link

I have the kids this weekend so there will be on onimoedness for me until possibly Monday morning. I also suspect I will see none of the football, but this may be because I am wiiing.

aldo, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:33 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm under orders to keep my wii under wraps.

onimo, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:34 (sixteen years ago) link

Ha ha Miso has been considered (xxxpost). It was rejected because too far away!

Lucky bastard Onimo. I like the way you no longer resist the use of your name in vain :) (xxpost)

Oooo how many kids? Yay for Wii. I want one! I'm taking care of my (older) cousin. I will also need to write like a motherfucker so Rock H doesn't kill me chili verde style!

kv_nol, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:36 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm sure my kids have been on this very thread in my holiday snaps. But this is MY WII o, so I don't need an excuse to hide it away. (You did set it up at work on your giant projector, right? Just to "check it worked"?

aldo, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:38 (sixteen years ago) link

I will also need to write like a motherfucker so Rock H doesn't kill me chili verde style!

He will simply send me. I live closer and work clean.

Jesus christ, Byrne, go back to work!

accentmonkey, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:39 (sixteen years ago) link

I like the way you no longer resist the use of your name in vain

At least it's for something worthwhile(ish). Rather that than have my 'name' associated with serial asshattery or trolling.

xpost no I didn't. I did once set up Doom on a HUGE screen in a previous job. Made me motion sick.

I'd feel too guilty if I played it before the kids. Christmas is feckin miles away and mrs o won't let me give them the wii for their birthdays.

onimo, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:40 (sixteen years ago) link

Mrs o is RONG RONG RONG. Offer to buy her a bottle of Mad Dog or something to win her over.

aldo, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:42 (sixteen years ago) link

I have it half written. I just need to put album reviews in. Also remove swears in case aged wrinklies read it.

Oh wow re. projector.

I remember teh kids! sorry, easily confused today.

I'd feel too guilty if I played it before the kids. Christmas is feckin miles away and mrs o won't let me give them the wii for their birthdays.

OMG she is such a MONSTER!

kv_nol, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:44 (sixteen years ago) link

(joke btw)

kv_nol, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:45 (sixteen years ago) link

I've called her worse and had to apologise for fucking months.

onimo, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:46 (sixteen years ago) link

Lolz

kv_nol, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:49 (sixteen years ago) link

kv_nol, Friday, 7 September 2007 12:57 (sixteen years ago) link

I am dying here. DYING.

Had emergency battered sausage chips and beans for lunch and a can of Irn Bru. I'm not sure if it can hold back the ruin. Oh g0d. Oh yrg. Help.

Sarah, Friday, 7 September 2007 13:04 (sixteen years ago) link

The tummy is complaining big time. IDIOT STOMACH do you not know what's good for you?

Oh heck three more hours to go. THREE WHOLE HOURS. Argh!

Sarah, Friday, 7 September 2007 13:05 (sixteen years ago) link

I recommend a very milky tea with two sugars more than you usually take in it. Looking at Wiggy McGann might help you too.

aldo, Friday, 7 September 2007 13:12 (sixteen years ago) link

I will also need to write like a motherfucker so Rock H doesn't kill me chili verde style!

So let's see here, you don't like chilies, you don't like fish...you're one of those people who only eat well-done beef and mashed potatoes, aren't you? Trish is right, I'm going to send her round to your place for some harsh "re-education."

Rock Hardy, Friday, 7 September 2007 13:25 (sixteen years ago) link

oh, so THAT's what she does to pay the bills, is it?

aldo, Friday, 7 September 2007 13:26 (sixteen years ago) link

B-b-but... I don't like milky tea at the best of time and don't take sugars at all!

I am really actually feeling quite sick now and would be very surprised if I were not an uncomfortable shade of green. Haha! Wiggy McGann! I am watching Shonen Club tat on youtube for distraction but it's losing out to the nausea. UGH!

Sarah, Friday, 7 September 2007 13:27 (sixteen years ago) link

No wait, I LOVE food and cooking! I'm actually a good cook, I'm just not into fish people. Yes, I know it's wrong, I try it as often as possible but I just can't get into the taste really. Re-education (i.e. a free feed) would be appreciated though!

Sarah what were you up to that caused such ruination? (I know you were drinking obviously)

kv_nol, Friday, 7 September 2007 13:45 (sixteen years ago) link

Lordy, turn my back for half a second and this thread totally gallops away! I just had to do major homework. Ramzi/Surmounter, I love your name!
My son consented to have his 23rd birthday dinner with US, his boring parents, because he had to wake up early for work the next day and also because I bought him a lobster. Mr BP and I have had our lifetime lobster dose and will vomit if we have to eat one more. Every houseguest wants 'em. Blurgh. I have to go vomit right now, just thinking about it.
So kv-nol, if you visit us you will be safe from at least one form of noxious seafood.

Beth Parker, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:17 (sixteen years ago) link

oh, so THAT's what she does to pay the bills, is it?

I don't pay bills. I FIX EM.

Good news, everyone. I've just discovered that my work has nothing for me to do for the early part of next week, and so I can stretch out the work I have at the moment to take me up to Tuesday, which means I can doss the rest of this lovely sunny Friday away. Huzzah! I can finish that book about the Charge of the Light Brigade I've been reading.

accentmonkey, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:18 (sixteen years ago) link

Mr BP and I have had our lifetime lobster dose and will vomit if we have to eat one more.

Yes, we have a friend who used to be a lobster fisherman. He hasn't eaten a lobster in years. However, it was very handy to have him at dinner with us in Halifax, as he was able to show Mister M how to eat every single little bit. Value for money.

accentmonkey, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:19 (sixteen years ago) link

my bak hurts and i can't decide if i should meet this stranger tonight to like go be ridiculous. i don't think so. i feel like i need some keyboard time. yeah.

Surmounter, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:20 (sixteen years ago) link

(xpost) That's what we do, too, actually. We're lobster-eating coaches. Show people tail-cracking technique and also how to find the elusive body meat, which is the sweetest—the lobster equivalent of the "oysters" on a chicken.

Beth Parker, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:22 (sixteen years ago) link

fuck, my post was eaten somehow.

K, I'm jealous of your trip. maybe we can lunch at Aster's soon.

I'm getting Onimo-ed tonight b/c CLASS WAS GOOD! Confident about my quiz performance and then he got into functions. I realized, "Hey, this is just functions and associative arrays like in programming. I KNOW THIS!!" YAY!

Ms Misery, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:23 (sixteen years ago) link

Surmounter, I don't know about you, but keyboard time is so bad for my back! Sitting in a chair is the worst. The nerve gets all pinched and it radiates into my hip. Take 4 ibuprofen and GO BE CRAZY!

Beth Parker, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:24 (sixteen years ago) link

Get a better chair, Beth!

Ms Misery, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:24 (sixteen years ago) link

Ms. Misery, SEE???? We told you you were smart 'n' all.

Beth, yes! This is exactly what our friend says. Mister M was most grateful. And his tummy was all bursty.

accentmonkey, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:24 (sixteen years ago) link

I have a good chair!

Beth Parker, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:25 (sixteen years ago) link

Hmm, better keyboard set up? It's all about ergonomics.

Ms Misery, Friday, 7 September 2007 14:26 (sixteen years ago) link

If I had an office job I'd address the problem, but as it is I just try to limit my chair-hours. Sitting is bad, even in the best of chairs. We weren't designed for it. When I am old and even more broken-down I imaging I'll do my ilxing in bed, or standing. On a treadmill!
