Speaking of Spandau, how's that "rock" album they released in '86?

Wait.
UBER CLASSIC.
Second of all, ts: "breakout" vs. basia's "new day for you" is a serious debate for me!
Thirdly, my ctrl-f mixed with my over excitement caused me not to find any mention in this thread of the fact that Swing Out Sister is made up of Andy Connell and Martin Jackson who were once part of the A Certain Ratio AND Magazine!

Is this danceable? Wedding friendly??? I can't rememeber anything but the vocals, horns and cooing in the chorus...

Looking back at Alfred's posts, if someone were to release a "sophisti-pop of the '80s" compilation, I would definitely snap it up. That was some incredibly great music. Robert Palmer was great (at Bryan Ferry levels) when he too was doing "sophisti-pop", but floundered miserably when he attempted to rock out IMO. Speaking of Ferry, he too must be represented in any decent "sophisti-pop" compilation.

That's an understatement, for sure.
I guess I was lucky that VH1 was not part of our standard cable package just yet when this was released
Oh! I wasn't even watching VH1 when this song was first released! I was going by my recollections of what they were playing throughout the early - mid 1990s, back when they had a seemingly limited selection of '80s videos they would play the life out of.
