This isn't unexpected but it makes me happy all the same - so much blondeness! Harry Nilsson and Joni Mitchell.

I meant to post this here a while back when I first found out, but apparently Alexander Skarsgard and Jack McBrayer are besties?!

Colonel Sanders & Ziggy Pop

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 19:16 (three years ago) link

is that Lou Reed on the left??

Ray Cooney as "Crotch" (stevie), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:29 (three years ago) link

OK, a buddy insists that it's a fake japanese Colonel, but I don't want to believe it. It's on a japanese cruise ship.

I don't think so Stevie... could you see Lou wearing that tie?

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:31 (three years ago) link

not really, but the 'fro?

Ray Cooney as "Crotch" (stevie), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:34 (three years ago) link

that colonel looks a bit... wide.

Ray Cooney as "Crotch" (stevie), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:34 (three years ago) link

maybe this explains why lou and bowie had that mysterious fistfight that time

Ray Cooney as "Crotch" (stevie), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:34 (three years ago) link

david bowie was about 5'9", 5'10"

according to imdb.com, colonel sanders was also 5'10". old age may have cut down sanders' heigh a little, but in that photo, if bowie is 5'10", then sanders is like 5'0"

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:37 (three years ago) link

But Bowie could be wearing 7" stack heels

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:37 (three years ago) link

that's john lennon on the right, btw

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:39 (three years ago) link

Huh, I thought it was Robin Gibb... good to know.

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:41 (three years ago) link

Thought it was Barry Manilow.

pplains, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:57 (three years ago) link

Bowie was never 5'10", though I think this argument's been had before.

Waterloo Subset (Tom D.), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 21:15 (three years ago) link

(xp) Yes!

Waterloo Subset (Tom D.), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 21:15 (three years ago) link

i definitely don't mean to argue or make an argument, it was just what a quick lil google said (5'9 and a half is what i actually saw)

i do believe, though, that colonel sanders is 4'11"

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 21:20 (three years ago) link

that's clearly Rod Stewart on the right

Ray Cooney as "Crotch" (stevie), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 21:20 (three years ago) link

FPing Andy for bringing th impeccable standards of this thread into such shambolic repute

Doctor Casino, Wednesday, 3 February 2021 04:01 (three years ago) link

can't believe the producer, star and director of the same film would ever be in the same place together

Dying at this.. can we make it happen?

brimstead, Thursday, 11 February 2021 22:58 (three years ago) link

it *is* sorta odd that there is not ILX gear out there

we could fund a dedicated politics board with the proceeds !

John Wesley Glasscock (Hadrian VIII), Thursday, 11 February 2021 23:04 (three years ago) link

We kind of missed the window for trucker hats

Mr. Cacciatore (Moodles), Thursday, 11 February 2021 23:09 (three years ago) link

There were baseball shirts on Cafe Press at one point - I think I still have mine at the bottom of a drawer.

But then there was the whole "selling what belongs to all of us for profit" argument (over a book?) which derailed it

Well *I* know who he is (aldo), Thursday, 11 February 2021 23:15 (three years ago) link

Yes, I believe George Lucas sold the ILM rights for several billion dollars a few years ago.

Halfway there but for you, Thursday, 11 February 2021 23:19 (three years ago) link

scampsite (darraghmac), Friday, 12 February 2021 01:42 (three years ago) link

On another note, did Bowie ever look worse than this 1987-ish period? Bad fashion and bad music colliding spectacularly...

Zelda Zonk, Friday, 12 February 2021 01:45 (three years ago) link

You think that's bad, you should've seen Di in her 1997-ish period.
