If we lock the thread, we'd also be bound to delete the last nine years of posts: Photos taken of famous people together that you would never have expected to be together but make you happy all the same.

or at least the last seven: Photos taken of famous people together that you would never have expected to be together but make you happy all the same.

Tom has a better version of the photo, though.

jackie Collins looks SO FUCKING COOL in that photo

To be honest, I thought that combination of famous people was too good not to have been posted before.

apparently the Chili Peppers or their promoters gave Chopper Read a backstage pass in 2013? not that there's a right time, just hard to imagine why he was seen as a quality PR move at that point

shivers me timber (sic), Tuesday, 26 January 2021 05:58 (three years ago) link

Can’t believe I recognised Chopper just from seeing the film two decades ago.

Madchen, Tuesday, 26 January 2021 09:00 (three years ago) link

I had to zoom in to confirm it was Chopper and not Eric Bana as Chopper

Just read that guy's wikipedia page since I had no idea who he was. It's quite a read.

It is here that I should bring up the fact that in the early'80s Harvey Keitel and John Lydon co-starred together in a psychological cop thriller.

This isn't unexpected but it makes me happy all the same - so much blondeness! Harry Nilsson and Joni Mitchell.

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 19:16 (three years ago) link

is that Lou Reed on the left??

Ray Cooney as "Crotch" (stevie), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:29 (three years ago) link

OK, a buddy insists that it's a fake japanese Colonel, but I don't want to believe it. It's on a japanese cruise ship.

I don't think so Stevie... could you see Lou wearing that tie?

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:31 (three years ago) link

not really, but the 'fro?

Ray Cooney as "Crotch" (stevie), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:34 (three years ago) link

that colonel looks a bit... wide.

Ray Cooney as "Crotch" (stevie), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:34 (three years ago) link

maybe this explains why lou and bowie had that mysterious fistfight that time

Ray Cooney as "Crotch" (stevie), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:34 (three years ago) link

david bowie was about 5'9", 5'10"

according to imdb.com, colonel sanders was also 5'10". old age may have cut down sanders' heigh a little, but in that photo, if bowie is 5'10", then sanders is like 5'0"

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:37 (three years ago) link

But Bowie could be wearing 7" stack heels

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:37 (three years ago) link

that's john lennon on the right, btw

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:39 (three years ago) link

Huh, I thought it was Robin Gibb... good to know.

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:41 (three years ago) link

Thought it was Barry Manilow.

pplains, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 20:57 (three years ago) link

Bowie was never 5'10", though I think this argument's been had before.

Waterloo Subset (Tom D.), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 21:15 (three years ago) link

(xp) Yes!

Waterloo Subset (Tom D.), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 21:15 (three years ago) link

i definitely don't mean to argue or make an argument, it was just what a quick lil google said (5'9 and a half is what i actually saw)

i do believe, though, that colonel sanders is 4'11"

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 2 February 2021 21:20 (three years ago) link

that's clearly Rod Stewart on the right

Ray Cooney as "Crotch" (stevie), Tuesday, 2 February 2021 21:20 (three years ago) link
