I am embarrased to admit I still sing that damn song to my cat on occasion.

My wife says our cat smells like cotton candy.

Halfway there but for you, Monday, 30 October 2023 00:17 (six months ago) link

She is still alive, but her career has been on life support since the mid-aughts.

She still makes more income than 90-99% of the population every year via royalties alone.

Or rather residuals. Whatever, I wish I had that kind of job pay.

birdistheword, Wednesday, 1 November 2023 00:34 (six months ago) link

I wish her nothing but the best. She was by far the best part of a shitty show.

immodesty blaise (jimbeaux), Wednesday, 1 November 2023 00:42 (six months ago) link

Hah, I wasn't sure if anyone else disliked that show. It was so popular, watching episodes was unavoidable. It basically had everything that was entertaining and terrible about your average laugh-track sitcom, including the common trend among '90s TV shows to show a bland, lily-white depiction of NYC. I thought it was immensely funny when I found out later on that another NBC sitcom, NewsRadio, made fun of this fact with the simple line "Anybody see Friends last night?" (Makes no sense out of context, you have to see the entire scene, starting at 11:00.)

birdistheword, Wednesday, 1 November 2023 00:56 (six months ago) link

I agree with all that. Most of all, it just . . . wasn't funny.

immodesty blaise (jimbeaux), Wednesday, 1 November 2023 01:01 (six months ago) link

No, it was more than that. It was aggressively unfunny.
