Dear corn on the cob,

I love how I eat you, and then you come out the other end intact so that I can enjoy you again.

Sincerely,

Humansuit.

The harvest is so short...we only had corn from my parents' garden for a couple of weeks, but while it was coming, we ate it almost every night.

I have had 2 cats that have loved plain corn, no butter (with butter is fine too, but not necessary). One of them also loved popcorn (again, without butter or any flavoring, but only popped).

libcrypt, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 03:57 (sixteen years ago) link

The thing that bugs me is that we are so racist towards corn in our society.

humansuit, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 14:48 (sixteen years ago) link

It's because of the Indians.

Ms Misery, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 14:49 (sixteen years ago) link

french people rarely eat corn and never on the cob - they think it's for animals! RESIGN FRANCE

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 14:51 (sixteen years ago) link

The French are another problem. I can see why the are so weak militarily.

humansuit, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 14:54 (sixteen years ago) link

cornholin' keeps armies strong.

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 15:20 (sixteen years ago) link

Exactly. Why do you think the US military is the most powerful in the world? Cholos eating cob.

humansuit, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 15:26 (sixteen years ago) link

I once was so poor, like a month ago, that I went down to the food bank. They gave me a few stalks of corn. I got it home and couldn't get it to soften and tasted it and realized it was COW CORN, not sweet corn. Big difference, and thanks food bank!

wanko ergo sum, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 15:41 (sixteen years ago) link

had me some corn last night in honor of this thread! mmmm...good

carne asada, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 15:44 (sixteen years ago) link

Whoa.

I think I knew that about the French. Maybe they have been eating cow corn!

Jesse, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 15:45 (sixteen years ago) link

i'm starting to get really irritated with cute pet pictures with "funny" captions underneath. LEARN TO SPELL YOU STUPID FUCKING ANIMALS!

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 20:41 (sixteen years ago) link

hey, you can't blame them. it's hard enough for them to learn rudimentary english, much less proper spelling and grammar.

kingfish, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 20:44 (sixteen years ago) link

However, in Mexico corn smut is called huitlacoche..., an Aztec word reportedly meaning raven's excrement.

nickn, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 20:48 (sixteen years ago) link

hey - they've been doing it long enough to make me angry at the very sight of the meme - you'd think they'd show SOME improvement!
