I can't watch this anymore since I saw something on youtube spoofing the beginning cracks by Caruso - you see all them lined up one after the other, with him ripping off his sunglasses and delivering some cliche.

that clip is actually what made me start watching this show on A&E reruns constantly. I had forgotten how amazing television could be. I really missed the boat on this, the og CSI and L+O:CI.

even worse than the one where speed dies is the one where delko is recovering from his headshot and keeps thinking speed is still alive!

i used to think csi:ny was bad but i saw a really ace episode where these irish drug runners tried to break into CSI headquarters to steal their coke back from the cops and gary sinise and providence chick did die-hard-but-science thing and used their advanced zoom technology to beat the bad guys

csi:ny and l&o:svu I can't really get into for what I think are similar reasons - I look at meloni and sinise being all "hey I'm detective" and I can't help but think "lol no u not"

gotta admit csi:ny has improved significantly over the past season or two. actually these days it's Miami I can't watch. NYEAHHHHHHHHHH!

christ this show has just about the most unlikeable cast i've ever seen, everyone is either petulant or completely retarded all the time. and yet i cannot turn it off when it is on, i.e. last night's season premiere.

the whole episode revolves around horatio pretending he's dead so these gangsters trading in illegal cop killer bullets will let their guard down. there's actually a scene where some gangster says "horatio caine is dead, it's gonna be open season on miami now!"

Aw, damn. He wasn't really dead?

All I know of this one (or of CSI:NY) is what I see on the commercials.

i've never seen a show have such a ridiculous use of recurring characters

david caruso is the star and acts like the star but it's really weird, every episode all he does is prolong some long-gestating and confusing storyline while everyone else in the show does the procedural shit, then he ducks back in at the ending to deliver the coup de grace to the criminal.

Never watch CSI:Miami, can't stand Caruso's weird acting. Caught a couple of episodes of CSY:New York and that's even worse! Two completely unrelated cases in every episode (no links between them whatsoever), ridiculous deus ex machina plot jumps (like how they find the murder weapon accidentally every time and it has useable fingerprints and everything), and what the hell is wrong with that woman with the pouty lips and the coke nostrils?

she was basically the co-star of the first half of "death proof" too.

this is on now and there was a dead body on a beach with severe injuries and a scene investigator was explaining to david caruso how a boat propeller had almost severed the victim's head. he said '...and that's how he ended up with this hanging chad of a head.'

This is one of the most aesthetically beautiful shows ever made

I am watching an episode for the first time in about ten years and it’s visually extraordinary. It’s a newer episode and clearly done on a tiny fraction of the old budget but the garish saturated colours, cheap fabrics and digital texture are fascinating in combination. My other half described it as looking like a PS3 cut scene.
