American Gods (TV series)

The thing that undid me was the way it looked like a bad imitation of Fuller. But totally joyless. For the whole first ep of the second season everyone stood around explaining themselves like it was a network tv pilot.

the whole Media/Mr World thing feels so much cornier on tv than it did in the book; i dunno if it's partly because it's such a 90's book, or what but I kinda cringe with all of that stuff now.

Dana Scully makes a nice Bowie though :)

Just watched episode 6 and thought it was mainly annoying. Everything about it just seemed murky and poorly defined, and not in an appealing way. It'd be nice if they got Shadow to do something other than look concerned - maybe have a word with that fucking saxophonist on the soundtrack who won't pipe down. To be fair on the show, all of the other episodes have been better.

I didn't bother at all w/ S2 after seeing how "tumultuous" the production was

the lush visual style of S1 was its main draw anyway sooo

has anyone stuck with the show? i jumped shop when they canned fuller, but i’ve heard rumblings that it’s gotten good again

I was well warned to enjoy season one and step a mile away tbh

i’m sure season 2 is rocky to say the least, but as a book reader i could prob jump into s3 with no problem if it’s worth it

I think I've enjoyed it more than the other seasons but it might as well be Fargo at this point.
