not heard the Joan Jett tho i have a feeling it's the best but i'll say Tiffany for now as i don't like 'Mony Mony' that much and think it's waaaaay down the list of Billy Idol singles in quality terms

I'd take I Think We're Alone Now by The Rubinoos, but since I can't do that.. Joan Jett's cover it has to be.

Also, while it's true REM's version of Superman doesn't come close to the original, it's still pretty terrific, isn't it?

I always thought it was strange that Weird Al parodied two of these on the same album - and both were parodies of the cover versions. I think "Mony Mony" and "I Think We're Alone Now" charted around the same time, so that makes sense.
