"A Little Darker" is the first mixtape/compilation put together by Illa State Records. Recorded between November 2005 and April 2006 this DOUBLE CD features many of the UK's brightest up and coming and already established mc's, singers and producers many of whom are working together for the first time. The recording process saw more than 70 different artists come together (out of nothing but love) to produce more than 40 tracks! The result is a hard-hitting blend of hip-hop and grime, which runs the full gauntlet of emotions, styles and personalities. Through this mixtape we are trying to bring some unity to our ever-fragmenting scene and prove that working together as opposed to being divided and controlled by boundaries not only produces the best material but is also best for business. This Mixtape also Showcases Ms Dynamites Long awaited return to the spittin arena and believe she is in better form than ever! DOUBLE CD!!!
