Lately I have had the urge to play not Magic: The Gathering but other, less popular trading card games of the nineteen nineties.

my roommate and i each have a shoebox+ full of mtg cards.

it is a mostly dark secret altho we were "popped in" on by some girls one night while hi & playing & it was lol

gone by 11 when i got home

yeah it broke up kinda early! I was there from about 7 until 10

what beers did you drink?

coffee stout (12% alc!), Krusovice schwarz, Gaffel Kolsch. all solid

then I went and got Teddy's to bring home

a lot of my friends were Rage geeks.
My downstairs neighbor has like 10,000 magic cards. He doesn't play anymore.

What did you get from Teddy's? I'm a huge fan of their avgolemono soup and lemon potatoes.

Forks: You should ask him if you can buy them for $10.

What would I do with them? Kindling?

chick i'm seeing not only used to play magic with the nerd boys in high school, but kept her old cards and wants to bust them out. looks like i'll be playing my first game since 8th grade.

went to this humungous comic book store on sunday in worcester and all the nerdz were lined up to get into some stinky room to play something called Legacy (Type 1.5). whatever the hell that is. what do i look like, a nerd? hahahahahahaha! five bucks to play.

but now as winter approaches, our Tookish meccg blood starts to boil again, and the calendar is filled with great gaming opportunities.

Erratum Proposal:
After long debate and due considerations, the Council of Elrond proudly presents their first official Erratum Proposal to the community.
We would like you to take a good look at the proposal, and then give us your vote.
If the proposal is accepted, the Erratum will be officially used in all Council of Elrond sanctioned tournaments (including Worlds and Lure).

Dream Card - First Folk:
The DC team has decided to boldly go where no one has ever gone before. There will be new meccg cards!
After many years of designing, play testing, and glueing their home made prints on meccg cards, the team has decided to professionally print the first two sets of dream cards.
This will remain an exclusive project for the meccg community. Anyone who signs in can buy the cards at cost price, but there will be no distribution otherwise.

only want to play lovecraft & tolkien based games that died a slow death of obscurity and waning playerbase.

i never did find my box of decks. which had my decks for these game too. i just found my boxes of junky common cards from cycles passed.

there is a new version of richard garfield's post-magic game netrunner, i never played it back in the day but it looks kinda cool, asymmetric gameplay and cheeseball 90s cyberpunk.

i would like to play jyhad again, or spellfire.

wait, what? I think I played it about twice after ordering the cards on ebay post-2000. Still have them, they look awesome. Is the new one revised or just a reissue?

yeah i really enjoy this, also it is playable solo if all your friends are too cool

it's revised into a "living card game" a la the lotr game, there are like mini-expansions that are the size of an old-school starter deck that all have the same cards. the lotr game is coop, with the players opposing a sort of rudimentary card AI, it works better than it sounds. the netrunner game is still PvP.

i am buying some magic cards from this guy and he also has a bunch of wheel of time tcg cards that i really want to buy but i a) have no one to play with and b) think the cards themselves are ugly as fuck

wheel of time CCG was a nightmare to play iirc.

max did you ever play this? this is one of only 2 ILX references to legend of the five rings. a friend of mine is about to start up a L5R campaign and invited me to join. i'm trying to figure out whether it will be fun enough to outweigh the hassle/detachment of playing with them remotely.
