Almost. Have to come home and meet up with Missoula cousin, who's coming to the island first, on the 23rd.

I always forget how to act off-island. I treat red lights like stop signs. I stop, look around, and proceed when safe. Duh. No traffic lights here.

Better safe than sorry. Lots of idiots treat red lights like green lights.

That reminds me, when my brother was here we were on North Loop. I pointed to the Forbidden Fruit across the street and said, "You should go in there now that you're old enough. Come back here whenever you're done." Only took him about five minutes, and that includes crossing the street both ways. I should have been cruel and gone with him!

Sam, the problem with volunteering at the animal shelter is that those animals need a home, and I am very weak. Left unchecked, I would have a menagerie. And I'd be dead because of my allergies!

Facebook depresses me. I am officially depressed by facebook. I don't know what it is but I am saddened by seeing all these names from the past and thinking: "What's been going on with them?" and realising that I only care in a competitive way. I can't wait to move into our new house. Just starting to have had quite enough of living in one room with the 4 of us -- although the view out the window is so nice and all. I had hoped we'd be in by Sept. but not all the windows and doors are trimmed yet, and there's still the final coat of paint (robin's egg blue in my bedroom) and flooring and appliances and toilets to install, etc., etc.

Missoula, oh I have fond mammaries. For me growing up, Mizzoo was The City. I was confused when I started college in CT and everyone kept saying they were from The City. They thought I was cute when I asked, "which city?"

I've long since given up on using flexi-time to build extra leave. Now I just work about an hour extra on a Monday. Then for the rest of the week I get an early train, take a short lunch, and I leave as early as I can.
Means I spend more concentrated and therefore less boring time at work, a lot less killing time waiting for trains and more time at home doing stuff I'm actually interested in doing.

It comes down to how much one likes to receive things in the mail, and how easily one is delighted by oddiments.
