lol yeah i mean obviously but it's still surprising & disappointing at some level. people feel very connected with artists and Grimes is an eminent millennial artist, with a history of activism & advocating for liberal/leftist causes. so intellectually yeah, it's easy to say "who cares who she dates/who she's seen with," and even if you don't care that it makes her look like a hypocrite, it's just disorienting, like one of those mr. krabs memes.

Visions is sexy too, of course, but its sexiness comes from her overall energy and intimacy and the romanticism and physicality in her lyrics. This is the first track I've heard where she seems to be going for a deliberate Lolita thing, so it just feels a little cheap and easy
