Lex are you going to the GA gig in Hammersmith in May? i can't wait!

Steve - Lukey of this parish swears by Raindance. I've not been tempted yet.

pete b. (pete b.), Thursday, 17 February 2005 13:58 (nineteen years ago) link

yeah but we've got tickets for May 29 whereas everyone else seems to have them for the 28th :(

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 17 February 2005 13:59 (nineteen years ago) link

I am also a bit tempted by an oldskool rave thing.

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 17 February 2005 13:59 (nineteen years ago) link

If any of you fancy a trip to Dublin, Black Strobe March 16th, at our club, and Optimo sometime in April, I think.

I was half thinking of trying to organise some friends to organise a party next time I'm in London, cos I want to DJ now, everywhere and anywhere!

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 17 February 2005 14:01 (nineteen years ago) link

I am also a bit tempted by an oldskool rave thing.

do such things exist?! I have been awaiting the early 90s rave revival for YEARS!

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 17 February 2005 14:14 (nineteen years ago) link

they've existed for some time now. Camden Palace actually did one of the bigger ones for ages featuring Ratpack live etc. regularly.

think there was something at The Arches a few weeks back too, old skool vs new skool breaks sort of thing.

Butlins are doing some big 90s revival thing at their camps where the likes of Baby D play as well as a lot of rub pop stuff. madness...

i want to go to Dublin, and Black Strobe would be a good excuse, but it might be too soon i'll see...

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Thursday, 17 February 2005 14:22 (nineteen years ago) link

Lex I have at least two great reasons for not seeing the G.A.! They are FINALS and POVERTY.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 17 February 2005 14:26 (nineteen years ago) link

My friend has been to a couple of places selling themselves as "old school rave" but has reported back that they are really actually rub, so I'd be careful about which venue you choose. Alternatively just HAVE A FOOKIN' HOUSE PARTY with "Rave Nation 92".

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Thursday, 17 February 2005 14:43 (nineteen years ago) link

dont forget back to yours at herbal with martin landsky on feb 26th

its a good night, the resident, margeret dygas is a wicked dj

ambrose (ambrose), Thursday, 17 February 2005 14:47 (nineteen years ago) link

that 26/2 output thing looks fantastic; unfortunately we'll be in france then, though.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 17 February 2005 14:53 (nineteen years ago) link

Flattered and all, but you are a mentalist. The Output night on the 26th looks pretty fantastic.

a. Kiss my arse. b. It's tempting, but I'm in poverty.

come and see Girls Aloud, Greg and Barima! there are no reasons for you not to.

Besides the fact that I like 3 out of almost 30 songs they've released, you mean.

Deerninja B4rim4, Plus-Tech Whizz Kid (Barima), Thursday, 17 February 2005 15:53 (nineteen years ago) link

Barima enjoyed Club Seal more because i wasn't there

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Thursday, 17 February 2005 15:54 (nineteen years ago) link

looks like half of London ILX is decamping to the continent next weekend

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Thursday, 17 February 2005 15:54 (nineteen years ago) link

Dave, shall we have a house party with 'Rave Nation 92' ? And nothing else? Not even guests?

alix (alix), Thursday, 17 February 2005 16:00 (nineteen years ago) link

who else is off to the continent?

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 17 February 2005 16:04 (nineteen years ago) link

Dave, yes we should. If only because our neighbours will not be happy. HA HA HA. Are you going to be home tonight in time for Dub Dob Deed?

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Thursday, 17 February 2005 16:11 (nineteen years ago) link

Top 3 ILXors to team with on the dancefloor:

1. Stevem
2. The Lex
3. Cis

Proven by mentalism.

Deerninja B4rim4, Plus-Tech Whizz Kid (Barima), Thursday, 17 February 2005 16:40 (nineteen years ago) link

I do hope to be home in time for Dirge Dob Dude. I will be eating my tasteless pasta also! Literally 7 minutes of fun!

alix (alix), Thursday, 17 February 2005 16:41 (nineteen years ago) link

i am rubbish to team with, don't listen to B.

what the hell is a Dirge Dob Dude?

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Thursday, 17 February 2005 18:19 (nineteen years ago) link

i can't dance with anyone - i guess it's ok when you're surrounded by loads of other people tho (as is always the case at The End)

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Thursday, 17 February 2005 18:20 (nineteen years ago) link

Barima you forgot Tim F in that there list.

Girls Aloud were amazing, we're all utterly in love with Cheryl now! it was even worth putting up with GAY for.

The Lex (The Lex), Sunday, 20 February 2005 21:17 (nineteen years ago) link

but Alan did the test that proves she's as gay as the next man...

Sven Bastard (blueski), Sunday, 20 February 2005 21:29 (nineteen years ago) link

So is anyone else up for Tiga-2ManyDJs-Black Strobe on Saturday then?

(I may not be after Club FT and Club Seal the previous two nights, but I'm going to try my absolute best to be...)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 21 February 2005 14:32 (nineteen years ago) link

bah. the only big events i could find on in Stockholm this weekend are gigs by And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead and The Mars Volta. Tho there is a goth club called Ultrachrome...

Sven Bastard (blueski), Monday, 21 February 2005 14:38 (nineteen years ago) link

BLACK METAL FAP!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 21 February 2005 17:11 (nineteen years ago) link

I think we should follow our latent goth tendencies whilst we're out there. Holiday Goths.

alix (alix), Monday, 21 February 2005 17:19 (nineteen years ago) link

Goths On Ice

Sven Bastard (blueski), Monday, 21 February 2005 17:22 (nineteen years ago) link

Plan!

"So is anyone else up for Tiga-2ManyDJs-Black Strobe on Saturday then?"

I totally am. TOTALLY! And Matt, I find it hard to believe you couldn't handle three nights of dancemania in a row. Don't start sewing the seeds of possible cancellation, yo!

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Monday, 21 February 2005 21:30 (nineteen years ago) link

Barima you forgot Tim F in that there list.

Nah, Steve-n's a red herring ;-).

Club Make Like A Circus Seal on Fri could be a go, but only if there are sexpots.

Deerninja B4rim4, Plus-Tech Whizz Kid (Barima), Monday, 21 February 2005 21:48 (nineteen years ago) link

Don't start sewing the seeds of possible cancellation, yo!

Haha, you know me too well ;) I suspect that making sure I behave myself on Thursday will be the key to this.

Too verdamnt expensive.

Deerninja B4rim4, Plus-Tech Whizz Kid (Barima), Thursday, 24 February 2005 20:21 (nineteen years ago) link

15 pound seems like the norm in london for anything good., eg fabric etc. apart from plastic people, there no where good for cheap

ambrose (ambrose), Thursday, 24 February 2005 22:34 (nineteen years ago) link

Jeez that looks like a fun show

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 24 February 2005 22:41 (nineteen years ago) link

Actually, Ambrose, the massive UK hip hop night currently playing at Rhythm Factory that I'm too tired to go to is a fiver in.

Deerninja B4rim4, Plus-Tech Whizz Kid (Barima), Thursday, 24 February 2005 23:13 (nineteen years ago) link

haha b4rim4, these guys i know are the backing band something for that night! they haver to learn all the estelle tunes or something and render them in a live stylee. mental.

and yeh obviously there are odd thigns, i was exaggerating quite a bit. but i expect to pay about 10 quid for 1/2 hrs pure enjoyment out of a 3/4 hr night. you know , the time when you are just really having fun instead of feeling tired or being pused or too hot or just waiting for someone to come on etc.

ambrose (ambrose), Friday, 25 February 2005 18:20 (nineteen years ago) link

i'll be back in london for a couple of days in the first or second week of june -- any idea what's happening then?

geeta (geeta), Friday, 25 February 2005 19:26 (nineteen years ago) link

I see the statue of Kelly Holmes in Trafalgar Square coming to life with fearful consequence and only four men with proton packs on their backs, fire in their hearts and steel in their bellies will stand a hope against it.

NOBODY STEPS ON A PUB IN MY TOWN!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 26 February 2005 17:18 (nineteen years ago) link

is anyone going to Tiefschwarz/Alter Ego at the Key on Saturday? I have not decided yet.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:22 (nineteen years ago) link

I will probably be up for that.

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:25 (nineteen years ago) link

Right now the last thing I have the energy for is another allnighter. This could well change by the weekend though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:24 (nineteen years ago) link

Broke again so doubtful for me...

Sven Bastard (blueski), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:28 (nineteen years ago) link

I may bypass London for Glasgow at the end of April, Mayer/Kohncke, I can't really decide and I have to see about money. Maybe I could go to Get Physical in June, but possibly too close to Glastonbury. It's one big decisions nightmare.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 7 March 2005 21:44 (nineteen years ago) link

Get Physical is almost certainly out for me now. Its my flatmate's birthday weekend and his plans are highly unlikely to run to six hours of electro.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 09:45 (nineteen years ago) link

i think i'd like to do...something

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 09:53 (nineteen years ago) link

Trash on Easter Monday anyone? I have that entire week off between jobs and although I'm supposed to be using it to rest and unwind it'd be a waste not to have one big night out.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 10:00 (nineteen years ago) link

So long as I'm not living in a cardboard box somewhere in London, I s'pose I could. I've still never been to Trash.
