wtf is going with leaks to the press, from the FBI or whatever, when an investigation is ongoing into a possible terrorist network that just blown up 22 children, women and men and might be intent on more attacks?

Pipe down over there, you Airstrip One denizen.

And McConnell's job gets harder!

With today's news, the 'Collapse and Replace' of Obamacare may prove to be the most effective path forward.

(xp) Trying to imagine the reaction if it was the other way round.

LOL just watching a BBC interview with a defence specialist saying he knows details about other viable devices and explosive materials that had been found as a result of the police investigation but he can't say any more about it - no worries, mate, we can read about it in the New York Times tomorrow.

Trying to imagine the reaction if it was the other way round.

Why we would have already arrested all of MI5 as threats to our vital security interest, obv.

Meantime, oh well!

well, he also didn't disclose them under oath during his confirmation hearings, right?

in a normal universe sessions would resign but i don't really see that happening, trump would see it as a major surrender

More on this bizarre Gianforte thing in this thread of tweets (click through for them all):

If Gianforte has learned anything from the previous year, he should stay in the race, deny that it happened, classify any publication that mentions it as fake news, call the reporter a big fucking loser, and win in a landslide

Apparantly Jacobs has a sound recording of it...

So um, congrats for flippiing Montana, I suppose. Now to get Karen Handel to do the same thing.

If assault charges are brought, that could change a few votes, even in Montana. Mug shots of politicians getting booked don't go over real big with some voters.

A is for (Aimless), Thursday, 25 May 2017 00:41 (six years ago) link

I haven't been following the MT special election closely, but apparently is was already a lot closer than was expected?

Regardless of outcome, the best move for gianforte is to say the reporter deserved it and act manly. Never apologize. If he shows any remorse he's instantly done; if he acts like a total asshole there's still a possibility of victory.

Karl Malone, Thursday, 25 May 2017 00:44 (six years ago) link

Isnt voting happening right now? No time for ads. Plus Trumpists hate the press and this is a natural extension of that.

Οὖτις, Thursday, 25 May 2017 00:45 (six years ago) link

Montana's by far the most interesting Midwestern state for bipartisan politics, but I gotta imagine this encourages Dem turnout.
