alex is calling this a masterstroke, "trump goes to the heart of islam to free the slaves," trump going into "the belly of the beast" to demand "capitulation" after "beating their forces in syria in 120 days." he has brought his wife into a state that "goes to the third world countries, puts the men to the sword and sells their women as sex slaves." alex's callers seemed less enthusiastic but suggested business is business and it'll mean some jobs back in america and the weapons will only be used by muslims killing each other.

that combination of posts looks jarring, criticizing the ilx liberal moron team and then quoting from alex jones. but i wanted to reply to trayce-- i mean, these guys will come out on the right side of things, either way. trump doesn't go down in flames, alex jones says he was compromised by the globalists, soros, zionists, the elite. and if trump gets removed from office or he continues to confront roadblocks, then it's the globalists, soros, zionists and the elite showing their true power. the drumbeat continues.

obviously Trump's draconian budget fuckery is the far bigger issue here, but this is just another example of disingenuous messaging that continues to irk me because almost all Democratic politicians play into it:

These social welfare cuts are not, by and large, going to affect the middle class. They affect the poor, but hardly anyone in Washington ever wants to utter that four-letter word. I know these people have elections to win and so they're always going to target their message to the groups that are more likely to vote, but I can't help but think this rhetoric just contributes to the sense that the poor can be ignored, which leads us right back to bullshit like these social-program cuts.

Sunday NYT had a pretty biting article from a psychologist explaining that it's unfair to compare Trump to a four-year-old because of a laundry list of ways in which your average four-year-old is a more fully-rounded and emotionally-mature human being than our president.
