You mean, like, a week?

Trump's "NO" when asked if he asked Comey to end Flynn investigation is identical to "WRONG" during debate w/Hilary.

Rosenstein testimony to Senate was profoundly disturbing.

Thanks, Merkley, for that update.

yeah if this was in court the notes of a law enforcement agent would be solid, but impeachment isn't going to follow the federal rules of criminal procedure

Wittes's own piece now is of interest. Deep inside baseball at a lot of points.

Byline is @VaughnHillyard, terrific Pence embed who spent months with his team. Do the math: VP office laying all blame on Trump & McGahn. https://t.co/tKRayU3xeV

Pence definitely starting to be more open about this.

marcos, Friday, 19 May 2017 02:24 (seven years ago) link

Key bit from the Wittes piece, I think

Comey never said specifically that this policing was about the Russia matter, but I certainly assumed that it was—probably alongside other things. While I do not know how many incidents we’re talking about, how severe they were, or their particular character, I do know this: Comey understood Trump’s people as having neither knowledge of nor respect for the independence of the law enforcement function. And he saw it as an ongoing task on his part to protect the rest of the Bureau from improper contacts and interferences from a group of people he did not regard as honorable. This was a general preoccupation of Comey’s in the months he and Trump overlapped—and the difference between this relationship and his regard for Obama (which was deep) was profound and palpable.

lol

But as he told me the story, he tried hard to blend into the background and avoid any one-on-one interaction. He was wearing a blue blazer and noticed that the drapes were blue. So he stood in the back, right in front of the drapes, hoping Trump wouldn’t notice him camouflaged against the wall.

re the Guardian article: "But what does Trump believe in?" But what did Nixon believe in? Why does it matter? If the article wants to make the point that amorality eventually leads to a Watergate, then say so.

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 19 May 2017 12:00 (seven years ago) link

amorality is immorality. only satanists sin for the sake of sinning.

Mordy, Friday, 19 May 2017 12:14 (seven years ago) link

Donald Trump believes in Donald Trump. Which is a pretty gross and indefensible thing to believe in, imo.

i think of trump as slumped and stubby, but this is pure prejudice bcz he's 6"2" ( an inch taller than obama, which just goes to show i guess)*

hillary would not have been the shortest president (she's an inch taller than madison was)

*i have no idea what it shows
