It's kind of remarkable how the Trump presidency has proceeded more or less exactly as many predicted it would, and yet ... still remains constantly shocking and surprising.

BTW, what happened to the defamation suit filed by Allred a million years ago?

rlly yr best hope is for Yam to explode like Mr Creosote

Supercreditor (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:43 (seven years ago) link

@tinyrevolution
There was no way to predict Trump would act like this in office except for everything he'd ever done his entire life

Supercreditor (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:45 (seven years ago) link

Worth noting, yet again, that the hot water Trump finds himself in is not due to his venality but rather his self-defeating stupidity. Imagine the kind of success one could attain with the breaks he's been given. And yet he always finds a way to slam his dick in the drawer.

I can't say I'm shocked or surprised by anything other than the speed at which wheels are falling off the car. I expected more staff turnover, diplomatic gaffes, insider reports of ignorance, incompetence, and angry rage, but I mostly expected 45 to play figurehead while Pence pushed his Christian dominionist agenda covertly.

it's just locker room treason (Sanpaku), Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:47 (seven years ago) link

Tbf, that speed is exactly what I would expect from both the worst person and worst president ever.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 01:49 (seven years ago) link

it's the perfect wedding of someone who knows nothing pertinent and listens to no one

It's just very fucked up such a person rose to this level.

John Kasich is such a dork

Also, limiting your staff/appointments to those who would voluntarily associate with DJT.

Fuck John Kasich

Treeship, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:38 (seven years ago) link

Frankly, I would have preferred had Kasich taken the opportunity to be in charge of foreign and domestic policy, so that Twitler could get on with MAGA.

it's just locker room treason (Sanpaku), Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:40 (seven years ago) link

He's such a snake. He keeps saying the Democrats need to be careful not to exploit the fact that the Republicans nominated an actual monster.

Treeship, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:42 (seven years ago) link

fuck you your whole party and most of your voting base are monsters, Kasich

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:50 (seven years ago) link

Obv Republican reaction has been muted but there are definitely more GOP voices than during previous Trump scandals speaking out. I mean, make no bones, it's far too few of them and most of them are guarded or severely bet-hedging statements, but they all seem to be testing the waters more than they were with some of the previous scandals.

This isn't just conjecture, this is alleged evidence of trying to obstruct justice from the only-recently ousted FBI Director. This is a bit harder to double-talk your way out of, which is why so many GOPers have opted just for silence instead of their typical rhetoric.

(FOX has brought the unintentional LOLs tonight as per usual)

Charles "Butt" Stanton (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:52 (seven years ago) link

The Republican Party needs to dieeeeeeeee

Treeship, Wednesday, 17 May 2017 02:55 (seven years ago) link

Kasich is lecturing his listeners on brotherhood and empathy meanwhile his party wants to rip people's health care away.

I'm not sure what better group would arise in place of the Republican party if it died, given where the electorate is today. Would a sick and exhausted GOP be replaced by the new, energized American Fascist Party?

My only real prediction for this presidency was that he was going to kill thousands of Americans. If we get to end his time in office without that happening I'll be surprised, thrilled and eager to fight whichever minor league pisshole comes next

A senior official in the Trump administration, who previously worked on the president’s campaign, offered a candid and brief assessment of the fallout from that string of bad press: “I don’t see how Trump isn’t completely fucked.”

already getting tired of the "controversial" liberal hot takes - "Comey memo provides ZERO EVIDENCE".

Yes - his memo was intended to start the conversation, not complete the conversation. The evidence comes afterward when it's subpoenaed and when Comey testifies.

it is kind of humorous to me that Trump apparently still doesn't realize the illegal things he does and says as a CEO are much more likely to become public knowledge when he does them as the President.
