maybe. i'm not sure it's that clear cut, which is why we haven't seen en masse abandonment of trump after the numerous previous dumb things he's done. as shitty as he is, he was apparently a more appealing candidate to their base than any of the blowhards that gave it a shot during the primary. if the GOP leadership are seen as turning against him about 4 months into his presidency, there's a gigantic idiotic chunk of the country that will blame everything on mcconnell and company.

pretty obvious point, but this is also reaaaally early on to be speculating about impeachment. it would probably be good to wait at least, you know, 8 or 10 hours, possibly even a full day to gauge the likely response of out noble political leaders
